Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Congratulations!
Last week we heard the fantastic news that Jack A will again be
competing at the State Cup for Touch Football. Jack has been
selected in the Under 14 team and will be competing in Coffs
Harbour in February. Congratulations Jack and we wish you all the
best.
Debating Superstars
Well done to our school debating team who participated in the WSLA
Debating Cup against all other schools from our community of schools
at Morisset High last Thursday. Harrie, Zayli, Sophie, Lily and Bailey
did our school proud! We are so proud of you all. Thank you to Ms
Godfrey for supporting and assisting the team in their preparation
and on the day.
Recycling Week
What an amazing effort all our students who entered the Recycling
Week competition have gone to. I have no idea where some of the
ideas come from! If you haven’t had a chance to have a look, come
and do so tomorrow afternoon in the school hall. A big thank you to
Mr Russell who organised this event for our students.
Remembrance Day
Congratulations to our school leaders and Harrie who spoke
beautifully at our school Remembrance Day service. Thank you to Ms
Godfrey for her organisation and to our 2018 Kindergarten students
and parents for joining us.
Have a great week everyone!

School Organisation 2018
As the end of year is approaching (way too
quickly!) we are beginning our organisation
for the 2018 school year. If you are moving
out of the area and leaving our school
please inform the office of your intentions.
Similarly, if you are aware of any students
moving into our area who will be attending
our school in 2018 please ask the families
to make contact with the school.
Band Recruitment
Students who are interested in playing
trumpet or clarinet with our school band
are invited to come to the hall on
Wednesday 15th during lunch time to speak
with Mr Paul and try the instruments.
P&C News
As the Wyee Mix Up draws closer we are
busy organising our
activities for the
night.
BBQ
The P&C will be
holding a BBQ on the night, selling sausage
sandwiches and drinks, from 4.30pm.
Volunteers are needed to cook and serve. If
you are able to assist please see one of our
P&C committee members or
leave your name at the
office. We plan for the BBQ
to be finalised prior to the
commencement of the
concert so you will not miss
any of the great show.
Cake Stall
We will also be holding a
cake stall on the night.
Profits from the stall will
help Lachlan East meet
costs as he represents our school at the
National Pacific School Games in Adelaide
in December. If you are able to help us by
donating cakes or slices to sell at the stall
they may be left at the office anytime on
Thursday or you may deliver them to the
school hall Thursday afternoon.
P&C Meeting
Our next P&C Meeting will be held this
Wednesday at 9:30am in the Library. All
welcome.
Coming up next Thursday!
Our school concert The Wyee Mix Up.
Date: Thursday 23rd November
BBQ: 4:30-5:45pm
Show Starts: 6pm
Place: Our School Amphitheatre
More information will be given closer to
the date. We hope to see you all there!

Remembrance Ceremony
Last Friday our students, staff and parents
fell silent in memory of the soldiers who
fought for our nation and those who died as a
result of war. Students then placed their
hand made Poppies on our Remembrance Wall.
Year 6 Fundraiser
This Friday, 17th November Year 6 students
will be holding a mufti day fundraiser. All
money raised will go towards the Year 6 gift to
the school. All students are invited to wear
mufti for a gold coin donation.
You may also choose to buy a
‘frozen spider’ (ice cream
and soft drink) for a gold coin
donation.
Please remember to wear
appropriate clothing and
footwear on the day. Shirts must cover
shoulders, no singlets. Shoes must be closed in,
no thongs.
Wyee’s Recycled Art Competition
To celebrate National Recycling Week, this
week we will be
holding a
recycled art
competition.
Students
artworks made
from reused and
recycled
materials should have been
taken to the hall today.
Parents and community
members are welcome to
visit the exhibition from
3.15 to 3.30pm on Monday
and Tuesday afternoons.
Please see Mr Russell if you have any
questions.
Thank you
Thank you to Mrs Nichols (pictured here with
the team who supported her from our AECG
and local schools) for her amazing organisation
of Jarjun Soar, a cultural day for all
Aboriginal students and their friends from
across all our WSLA schools.
Year 6 Photos
Mr Bof is currently collecting photos of Year 6
students in preparation for the slideshow
which will be shown at the Year 6 farewell.
Students are asked to provide 3 photographs
of themselves. Please include a photo from this
year, a pre school (baby) photo and a
Kindergarten photo.
Congratulations to our
Home Reader winners for
Week 5 Layla and Sarah.
Thank you to Mrs Barling
for your donation of new
books to our prize box.
