Itself 

•  The word itself it is hard to define.  Itself is used in sentences like this:   –  The whale sings only for 

itself.   

•  If we know the gender or number in a group, we would say: –  The female whale sings 

only for herself. 

–  The male whale sings only for himself. 

–  I sing only for myself. –  We sing only for ourselves. 

–  The children sing only for themselves.

Language 

•  A language is a system of words, phrases, and grammar used by people to communicate with each other.  Examples of languages are English, Spanish, and German.

Upset The word “up” is used in many compound words.  Usually the meaning has to do with “making something higher.”  The “up” in upset no longer has that meaning.  Today the main meaning is to be unhappy or worried because something bad has happened.     

Upset: Meaning 1:  The clown is feeling unhappy.
