FUNDRAISING TIPS

Set up a team web page that will track the financial support you’ve received and keep donors abreast of how your team is coming together.

Make use of the FirstGiving program to jumpstart your fundraising efforts.

Social media is a great way to spread the word of your team and the Hot Pursuit event. Don’t forget to use the hashtag #HotPursuitHI. Put on a bake sale, where you and your teammates bring items to work to sell.

Stage a “skill auction,” where you and your teammates auction off skills or services to coworkers and friends.

Create a “best appetizer contest,” where you and your teammates bring in appetizers, charging cowork-ers $2 to sample them and vote for their favorite one.

For more information or to register today, call 791-8045 or email [email protected]

Get to know Hospice Hawaii and its mission, and encourage your teammates to do so as well. Let your passion for the mission show when you solicit donors, and explain to them why Hospice Hawaii is such a worthwhile organization to support.

Reach out to as many people as you can for fundraising support. Beyond tapping into your immediate family, friends and colleagues, you might consider spreading the word to fellow parents involved with your child’s sports team, members of your church, participants in your yoga class, and so on. Any organization in which you’re involved can be a potential fundraising source.

Ask for an amount that’s higher than the one you expect to get. You never know when someone might be willing to surprise you with a major donation.
