You don’t want to miss out on this fantastic afternoon where we see Home Hill and Ayr go head to head, in three of the Burdekin’s favourite sports. Bride of the Year Will you be our 2017 Bride of the Year? This event is part of the Queensland Country Credit Union Home Hill Harvest Festival celebrations and showcases the beautiful brides of 2016/2017. Burdekin Bride of the Year promises to be a night of great entertainment with beverages available to purchase. Attendees are invited to BYO nibbles. There are categories for brides, bridesmaids, mother of the bride/groom, page boy and flower girl. Canefields Ephemera Exhibition Queensland Country Credit Union Home Hill Harvest Festival together with Brennan’s Tyrepower and Home Hill Discount Drug Store are pleased to present the inaugural Canefields Ephemera. Burdekin residents and visitors alike will be able to experience and enjoy the Burdekin’s first ever Ephemera installed in Lloyd Mann Gardens in Home Hill from 20 October – 30 November. Artists from the Burdekin and the wider region submitted concepts and ten artists have been selected to exhibit artworks in Canefields Ephemera. Date: 19 October - 30 November Time: All day Venue: Lloyd Mann Gardens, Home Hill NOVEMBER Students Ball This annual event is part of the Queensland Country Credit Union Home Hill Harvest Festival celebrations and is an event for Year 10 – 12 students of the Burdekin Shire. Date: Friday, 3 November 2017 Time: 6.00pm to 12.00am Venue: Burdekin Memorial Hall Cost: $30 Tickets can be purchased from your respective High School. Derby Day Races Held by the Burdekin Race Club, Derby Day is your traditional day of black and white fashions and quality horse racing, so get your friends and family together and come along to the Burdekin Race Club Derby Day, a fun-filled family event which is part of the Queensland Country Credit Union Home Hill Harvest Festival celebrations. Date: Saturday, 4 November 2017 Time: From 12pm Venue: Burdekin Race Club Cost: FREE Entry There will be a jumping castle and other children’s activities to keep the children entertained throughout the day. Canefields Fun Run Join the fun of the Queensland Country Credit Union Home Hill Harvest Festival week and kick start it with a run around the cane paddocks, you can even run with a stroller. The Fun Run sponsored by Guardian Pharmacy in Home Hill will take place on Sunday, 5 November 2017. The 8km run or 4km run or walk has both junior and senior categories with cash and medal prizes. Date: Saturday, 11 November 2017 Time: Parade starts at 5pm Venue: Main Street of Home Hill The Grand Parade will feature an array of floats, performers and colourful acts. After watching the procession down the main street of Home Hill, head over to Watson’s Green and enjoy live entertainment, workshops, rides and good old fashioned fun.
