MEETING NOTICEThe Board of Directors for Edge will meet on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Executive Conference Room at St. Johns River State College in Palatka, Florida.The College has requested the meeting to discuss dual enrollment for students of Putnam EDGE High School and other opportunities to enhance the relationship between the College and Edge to meet the needs of students in the community. Meetings are open to the public.Contact Pat Freeman at (386) 698‐2191 for more information.

The Putnam EDGE High School board of directors met Monday, November 10, 2014, in a special called meeting at the invitation of St. Johns River State College. The purpose of the meeting was for SJRSC executives to express an interest in establishing a collegiate high school and to determine interest by the Putnam EDGE school board in pursuing further discussions along those lines. 

Key points of discussion:• EDGE Board is open to discussing opportunities when the college is ready. 

We are continuing our plans for the College Rd Property in preparation for the 2015‐2016 school year.

• Putnam EDGE has just begun its second year with a maximum enrollment and is enjoying the beginning of an excellent school year. The board is always interested in considering opportunities that could lead to improved educational opportunities for our students.

• Students will be allowed to attend college classes in accordance to board guidelines. Currently these opportunities are available but could be expanded.

• President Pickens and Dr. Brown will present the possibility of establishment of a collegiate high school to SJRSC Board of Directors.

• The conversation was purely exploratory. No votes were taken nor decisions made other than to further evaluate the question and continue discussion.

During a discussion with Putnam EDGE board members expressed gratitude to the college for its interest and agreed to continue the conversation.
