“The March wind roars
Like a lion in the sky,
And makes us shiver
As he passes by.
When winds are soft,
And the days are warm and clear
Just like a gentle lamb,
Then Spring is here!”

In a couple of weeks, spring begins on the 20th. Seems like just a few days
ago we were ringing in the new year. There’s an old saying, “time sure
flies,” and it does, doesn’t it? Seasons change, but there is one thing that
never changes and that is our Lord’s word. Every year, millions of people
do spring cleaning to get rid of things they don’t need anymore. Today,
I am reminded of how God’s people often need to do spiritual inventory
and clean ourselves up. John 1:9 teaches us that if we will confess our sins
to the Lord he will be faithful to cleanse us of our sins. May each of us be
reminded daily to go to our Lord and allow him to clean us up. May God’s
blessings be upon each of you.

March FUN Facts
• March’s flowers are the daffodil and the jonquil.
• The first National Woman’s Day was observed in the United States on February 18th, 1909. The Socialist Party of America designated this day in honor of the 1908 garment workers’ strike in New York, where women protested against working conditions.
• St. Patrick died around the fifth century — 12 centuries before the modern version of St. Patrick’s Day was first observed.
• The March 17 celebration, now known as St. Patrick’s Day, started in 1631 when the Church established a Feast Day honoring St. Patrick.
