The third stage is an ultra-fine reverse osmosis membrane. This membrane is so fine that it strips the water molecules of all contaminants, even those that have been dissolved in the water.


The water then passes through an additional carbon block filter for a final polish.

Procedure: Pure Water 1: Flushed three times and let the full tanks sit 48 Hrs. before taking the water samples. Each day for the sampling period a total of 2 gallons of water were drained (one in the morning after sampling and one in the late afternoon). 100 ml of water taken for testing each day. 5 Gallon Bottled Water Cooler: Obtained a 5 gal. sealed drinking water bottle and a sanitized bottled water cooler. The bottled water and cooler were provided by a major bottled water brand.
