Overview
Our revised Public Accommodation Policy and Facility Partnerships Policy align with Ministry of Education guidelines.
School boards are required to develop a Long Term Pupil Accommodation Plan.
Overview
The Long Term Pupil Accommodation Plan:
assists in development of potential community partnership opportunities,
provides support for the initiation of any necessary Pupil Accommodation Reviews, and
will be shared with community partners.
Facility PartnershipsOpportunities for collaborative partnerships and facility sharing with publicly funded community organizations are welcome.
Facility partnerships need to be appropriate for a school setting and support student achievement and well-being.
Partners will be financially viable charities or not-for-profit organizations that align with Ministry of Education and TLDSB policies, beliefs, and values.
Facility Partnerships
Facility partnerships must be on a full cost-recovery basis.
TLDSB policies determine the priority of competing requests for facility partnerships.
Education services that compete with the school board cannot be considered.
Facility Partnership Steps
1. Locations identified.
2. Community and municipal partners notified.
3. Facility partnerships’ eligibility reviewed.
4. Facility partnerships and co-build proposals developed.
5. Fees and contractual agreements in place.

Next Steps
1. Community organizations are invited by TLDSB to indicate in writing, their interest in becoming a facility partner either now or in the future.
2. Expressions of interest are evaluated by the school board.
3. Facility partner signs an agreement with the school board prior to occupying the space.
All TLDSB facility partnerships and co-build opportunities are required
to be on a cost-neutral basis for the school board.
Potential TLDSB facility partners are required to provide:
Population projections
Growth plans
Land-use and green-space/park requirements
Capital project proposals
Community needs
TLDSB facility partners will be notified of any future co-building opportunities
at the annual Community Planning and Partnerships meeting.
Attendance and information exchange will be documented and retained by the school board.
