Operation Principle Two or three Rotating rollers Gradually compress tube forcing liquid through the tube just ahead of each roller. The tube shapes back to its original shape after rollers passed. So it can be filled with more liquid again. The liquid is transferred without damaging fragile components in the liquid stream.

OPERATION PRINCIPLE

Operation Principle The centrifugal pump is driven by a pair of magnet which are incorporated in the impeller and motor shaft respectively. The sea less pump structure eliminates shaft seals such as conventional mechanical seals, because the pump chamber is shielded the casing and the impeller is operated by magnet. The combine coupling torque of the drive magnet and impeller magnet drives sufficient driving power against the motor torque .

Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump
The liquid ring pump compresses gas by rotating a vane impeller within an eccentric to a cylindrical casing. Liquid (usually water) is fed into the pump and, by centrifugal acceleration, forms a moving cylindrical ring against the inside of the casing. This liquid ring creates a series of seals in the space between the impeller vanes, which form compression chambers. The eccentricity between the impeller's axis of rotation and the casing geometric axis results in a cyclic variation of the volume enclosed by the vanes and the ring.
Gas, often air, is drawn into the pump via an inlet port in the end of the casing. The gas is trapped in the compression chambers formed by the impeller vanes and the liquid ring. The reduction in volume caused by the impeller rotation compresses the gas, which reports to the discharge port in the end of the casing.
Typically a multi-stage pump will have up to two compression stages on a common sha ft. In va cuum service, the a tta ina ble pressure reduction is limited by the va pour pressure of the ring-liquid. As the vacuum generated approaches the vapour pressure of the ring-liquid, the increasing volume of vapor released from the ring-liquid diminishes the remaining vacuum capacity. The efficiency of the system declines as a result.
Single stage vacuum pumps typically produce vacuum to 35 torr (mm Hg) or 0.047 bar, and two-stage pumps can produce vacuum to 25 torr (mmHgA), assuming air is being pumped and the ring-liquid is water at 15C (60F) or less. Dry air and 15C sealant water temperature is the standard performance basis which most manufacturers use for their performance curves.
These simple, but highly reliable pumps have a variety of industrial applications. One typical industrial application is the vacuum forming of moulded paper pulp products (egg cartons and other packaging). Other applications include soil remediation, where
contaminated ground water is dra wn from wells by va cuum. In petroleum refining, vacuum distillation also makes use of liquid ring vacuum pumps to provide the process vacuum. Liquid ring compressors are often used in Vapor recovery systems.
Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump can use any liquid compatible with the process, provided it has the appropriate vapor pressure properties, as the sealant liquid. Although the most common sealant is water, almost any liquid can be used. The second most common is oil. Since oil has a very low vapor pressure, oil-sealed liquid ring vacuum pumps are typically air-cooled.
The ability to use any liquid allows the liquid ring vacuum pump to be ideally suited for solvent(vapor) recovery. If a process, such as distillation, or a vacuum dryer is generating toluene vapors, for example, then it is possible to use toluene as the sealant, provided the cooling water is cold enough to keep the vapor pressure of the sealant liquid low enough to pull the desired vacuum.

These are of oil-immersed, rotary vane type pumps. The rotor, with two spring loaded vanes, is mounted eccentric in the stator body. As the rotor, rotates the vanes sweep the crescent shape air space twice in each revolution. There is in-built non-return valve which prevents back flow of air. Manufactured from graded material, all moving parts are precisely machined, ground and assembled with close tolerances. This results in increased efficiency and long trouble free operating life. Accessories: Air Ballast: This is a vent pipe introducing air before actual compression which eliminates condensation of the sucked vapor, there by avoiding contamination of oil. Air Admittance Valve: It is electromagnetic solenoid type which admits air into the system as soon as the power supply fails. This prevents back-flow of oil to the system. Non-Return Valve: It is rubber diaphragm type, spring loaded valve, which prevents back-flow of oil to the system as soon as pump stops. These cannot be used to hold the vacuum in the system for longer period.

Fluid Couplings: Inherent Advantages:
• No wear of power transmitting elements • Motor always starts unloaded. So, it accelerates quickly to its optimum speed at which it delivers
its peak torque. • The torque multiplication at start-up, enables a motor to be selected for running power of a
machine, instead of its starting power required. Thus, acceleration of high inertia load is possible by a comparatively low powered motor. The rate of acceleration can also be controlled by varying the oil filling quantity. The shock free, smooth load take up is of great importance in some application.
• Maximum torque capacity of a coupling can be adjusted and limited to predetermined value to suit the motor or the machine, by adjusting the oil filling quantities.
• Simple, robust and more reliable, squirrel cage motor with simple star-delta starters combined with fluid couplings, can be employed for applications - which otherwise, require costly, special motors with even more complicated starting gears.
• The coupling, effectively dampens the shocks and torque fluctuations. Also protects motor from sudden jamming of machines. A fusible plug allows the oil to escape out and isolates the motor in case of prolonged delay in clearing the obstruction.
• Automatic load sharing and synchronization is achieved in case of multi-motor drives. • Braking of a running machine can be effected by reversing the rotation of motor. The opposite
torque developed by the reverse rotation of motor stops the machine.

Water Ring Vacuum Pump:
Features:
• Entrained liquid drops, Condensable vapors or occasional slugs of liquid can be handled without damage to the pump or significant effect on capacity. In the case of vapors, the pump can also serve as a condenser.
• No lubricant or oil is required within the pump itself. Thus the air or other discharge gases are not contaminated. The liquid which forms the ring (usually water) serves both as a sealant and a pumping media.
• A wide selection of materials and seal liquids can be used when corrosive gases and vapors are being pumped.
• The pumps contain no metal parts that rub against each other. Packing glands and bearings are accessible from the outside. There is no clearance volume and the pumping action is smooth and uniform (non-pulsating).
• The only moving part is a balanced impeller which reduces noise and vibration. This means lower foundation, installation and service costs.
• The pump can be provided with partial liquid recycle, closed loop liquid operation, automatic control and other features.
• Mechanical seals can be provided as an option. • Small entrained solid will pass through the pump. However, abrasive particles will result in
reduced pump life. • Each pump is performance tested prior to shipment.
Applications: The applications for liquid ring vacuum pumps are diversified and include during condensing, distilling, impregnating, sterilizing, evacuating, cooking, evaporating, draining, convening, venting and sucking. Liquid ring vacuum pumps are being used in the chemical, petrochemical, Pharmaceutical, pulp and paper and food industries. Some Specific Applications are:

Operating Principle: The working parts of the Aum Pumps cossets of a multi-vane impeller mounted eccentrically in a round casing which is partly filled with liquid (usually water). As the impeller rotate the liquid is thrown by centrifugal force to from a liquid ring which is connector with the periphery of the casing. Due to the eccentric position of the impeller relative to the casing and liquid ring the spaces between the impeller vanes fill with liquid during rotation and any air or gas trapped in the impeller space or cell is compressed and discharged from the casing through the outlet part leaving the cell available to receive air or gas as it is presented to the inlet port of the casing. In addition to being the compressing medium the liquid ring performs three other important functions. It absorbs the heat generated by compression and friction. It absorbs any liquids slugs or vapor entering with the gas stream. It will also absorb and wash out contaminants entrained in the gas. Wide Choice of Materials: Standard materials of construction is cost iron with semi steel rotor. Shaft material is stainless steel for model PW - 1 to PW - 4, larger sizes are carbon steel with brass of stainless steel shaft sleeves for wetted parts. Alternate combination materials are available for special applications.
