Considerations
• Think long-term & help children to do so:
– Learning optimally in secondary school environment
– Focus on work ethics & character values that lead to results
– Holistic lifestyle: monitor the tuition & enrichment lessons; need for sports & CCA etc.
– Partner with school
Direct Schools Admission
• Gives participating schools greater flexibility in their admission of students
• Adheres to key principles of transparency and meritocracy• Talents and achievements, in both academic and non-
academic areas, can be considered for S1 admission• Each participating school sets its own criteria for selection
based on the academic and/or non-academic areas that the school would like to emphasise
• Includes (but not limited to) portfolios, trials, interviews and/or tests
• Once a student accepts the DSA, s/he CANNOT take part in the Sec 1 Option Exercise and change schools after the PSLE results
