Highlights

• produced 1,376,224 forest tree seedlings and wildlings

Page 8: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

Highlights

• collection of seeds and use of seedbed to store and propagate available seeds

Page 9: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

Highlights

• produced 3,762,896 multiple species mangrove seedlings and propagules)

Page 10: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

Highlights

• the use of wildlings recovery chamber resulted to 80-90% survival rate.

Page 11: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

Highlights

• Inclusion of the Protection of Mother Trees in the Municipal Environment Code (Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)

Page 12: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

Highlights

• intercrop of abaca with trees as abaca requires at least 60% shade for better growth (preference is Ani-e (Erythrina fusca) , a nitrogen-fixing tree)

Page 13: PTFCF Rain Forest Restoration Initiatives

•Seed year (Dipterocarps: 2-10 years) thus, resort to wildlings collection (DENR permit is required) – need to protect mother trees and regulate wildlings collection.•Limited information on indigenous and endemic trees (e.g. site requirements - climatic, edaphic, elevation; growth performance - diameter and height; dendrology/tree identification; phenology and seed technology – collection and germination)•Ability of RF farm to provide short and medium term economic needs of farmers.•Need for identification and delineation of production and protection forest (land-use/management plans).• Replication of RF without/with minimal external support
