Education Recovery Program (ERP) At the end of 2004, with the effect of the Aceh tsunami on the education system, PSF deploys humanitarian aid projects under Education Recovery Program (ERP), which aims to rebuild the lives of teachers and students, and to restore the education sector in disasterafflicted areas. 10.000 The programs have directly and positively affected the lives of more than 10.000 students from all levels of education in disasteraffected areas 800 + 11.200 800 teachers in Aceh have received proper training in both pedagogy and subjectmatter knowledge in efforts to improve the academic performances of 11.200 of their students PSF also provides teacher and student scholarships, teacher training, textbook donations, and national examination and university entrance exam preparation tutorials. With the support from stakeholders, ERP provided among others: water purification system schools rehabilitation & reconstruction library rehabilitation emergency school tents school facilities’ assistance 2004 Sampoerna Foundation Teacher Institute (SFTI) SFTI develops programs based on actual and relevant educational thinking which is contextualized to upskill teachers to provide high quality learning opportunities for young Indonesians. 2006 The Leadership Development Program, Adopt a Teacher for Professional Development, and Teacher Education Program have led to sustainable improvement of the teachinglearning processes in schools. 14.000 As of end of 2008, SFTI has provided professional development training for more than 14,000 teachers across Indonesia School Quality Improvement Program (SQIP) Through this program, Putera Sampoerna Foundation works hand in hand with Indonesian Government municipalities to establish a model for quality senior schools. The program involves providing for the development of Principals, Teachers, Students and Parental competencies and combines these with the development of curriculum and school resources. 2005 To ensure the quality of this program, partnership is formed with the Singapore National Institute of Education (NIE) The Sampoerna Foundation also donates computers, printers, library books, prizes and exchange programs for teachers and students around the nation (and even to Singapore). Physical improvements are aided by the local government through the local education departments. SQIP Pilot Schools: Depok (West Java) Sekayu (South Sumatra) Balikpapan (East Kalimantan) Education Recovery Program ERP 2011 Moving from its initial interest in emergency program, ERP completes its service by developing schools’ infrastructure and facilities in normal situation. Furthermore, the programs offered in ERP are fully integrated with the knowledge and skills acquired in PDP and/or SDP, thus fulfills SDO in delivering a holistic education improvement program. With its long history and various experiences, School Development Outreach (SDO) was born in 2011 as an entity under Putera Sampoerna Foundation (PSF) that integrates several PSF education improvement efforts and delivers a holistic outreach approach. SDO offers 3 programs: PDP, SDP, ERP, which all aiming to enhance the performance of schools and educators thus enabling them to function more professionally and effectively toward producing graduates. Professional Development Program PDP School Development Program SDP A program specifically designed to facilitate schools to attain achievable standards, which fulfill, and for some levels, exceed the eight National Educational Standard criteria set by the Ministry of National Education. There are 5 sub programs with different intended objectives— Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Blue Quality. A program designed to cater the needs of educators to upgrade their skills and knowledge based on the standards set by the National Department of Education, as well as to equip them with 21 st century education skills. School Development Program SDP 2009 OUTREACH Professional Development Program PDP In 2009, PSF takes a step of repositioning its several outreach past efforts into 2 programs: PDP and SDP under the SSE OUTREACH. Having its roots from SQIP and USP, a program named SDP was born under SSE OUTREACH. Even though the name and the management are different, the idea is always the same: creating future leaders by enabling schools to reach and even surpass the National Education Standard Criteria set by the government. Leveraging on the past successes of SFTI with more than 14,000 teachers and principals trained, SSE OUTREACH continues to deliver professional development program with bestpractice and uptodate modules developed in collaboration with Sampoerna School of Education. Other than become SSE arms in reaching the community, this gives great chances for academicians to experience real practices by developing methodologies and tools, and practice their teaching skills as they involve in implementing the program in the fields. United Schools Program (USP)
