An independent spirit with a big heart and

big dreams.

Goes by her nickname, “Renzie”, is a 20 year old Marketing Student from San Beda College, Mendiola, Manila. She’s the eldest and only daughter of Rec Babasa and Melliza Briones. She’s a sister to three brothers, Tien, Jed and Miel.

It has always been her priority to be her parent’s responsible d a u g h t e r a n d a reliable sister. Her family is the most important thing to her.

She studied elementary and high school at Holy Trinity Academy for nine years. She was always considered as the leader of the group and of the class. A consistent pupil with distinction, she was deemed President of her class for two years while balancing her co-curricular activities with her membership in the Lector-Commentator and Music Ministry of her Parish and editor of their school newspaper.

She graduated as a Pupil with Distinction, a Loyalty Awardee, a Ministry Awardee and a Feature Editor Awardee. Her high school experience was important to her, because that’s where she figured out she was lost in life.. But that was also where she gradually found herself.

When she entered San Beda College, everything changed. She was hesitant at first, as to what course she truly belonged to. Everyone else was telling her to do and be another person but in the end, she listened to herself..

In the end, she chose MARKETING.

Renzie has always been a people person and so it wasn’t difficult to make friends. She was hesitant, but she was very eager to get to know more people. With her new and short hair (which she panicked and freaked out about), she bravely faced the halls of San Beda College with confidence and ease.

She met new friends and her block, 1AMC, during the first day of school. She found a group of friends along the way as well. Little did she know, these were the people that changed her life forever.

As part of the new breed of “Bedista”, one of her favorite tradition of her school was their Integration. W h e n s h e w e n t through the activity, that’s when she knew she was in the right place, in the right community, in the right

It was an adventure. She tried out a lot of activities, making more friends, establishing relationships with those around her and ultimately enjoying her freshman year. She excelled in her studies and consistently made it to the Dean’s List. She also found a group of friends that made everyday enjoyable and cheerful, and for that, she was thankful.

During her high school and collegiate years, she learned new sets of skills like Photoshop, iMovie or any basic movie editor, Java Script Encoding, Adobe Dreamweaver and of course Microsoft Office Programs. However, she still wants to improve her skills and learn new ones like speaking French, Italian and Chinese, taking singing lessons and more.

But of course, everything was good and it became even better when she joined the organization that would change her outlook in life. At first, she didn’t think that it would matter to her, but later in life, she found that it was part of her priorities. She found her family in the San Beda Junior Marketing Association.

T h e S a n B e d a J u n i o r M a r k e t i n g Association paved way for a lot of experiences. She started out in the Committee for Linkages, a position where she had to find and call for sponsors for an event. She became diverse, from a host, script writer, voice over, usherette and many more.

It also gave way to different tickets to seminars and conferences around the Metro. She also met the people that she looked up to and admired and became a person everyone can count on.

Dur ing the summer o f 2013 , he r experiences from SBJMA earned her as a marketing intern at Purplebug, Inc., a digital marketing agency all the while balancing org-related duties, like meeting new people, proposing events and creating connections. It was the busiest yet the most enjoyable moment of her life, one that she believes was blessed and proud of.

When she got older, she worked her way up to the organization earning her a spot as the Board of Governor and later on became the Vice President for External Affairs. It was a challenge, because she had no experience under that position but she took this on with her chin high and her drive and determination. She was lucky, because she had the chance to work with the best people in the organization and made her feel like she was really part of a united family.

Now that she’s graduating, she has always been thankful of all the things she has right now and will have in the future. Her experiences made her adaptive, diverse, open-minded and responsible.

In the end, she has become the person she wanted to be. She had experienced a lot of ups and down in her life, but has risen to the challenges and let it positively affect her life.
