PART II

POST GRADUATE COURSES (REGULAR STREAM)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Students under mark system: Eligibility of each PG Programme is specified based on the eligible UG

programmes and the % marks obtained in different Parts (eg: part 1, part II, part III etc.). Relaxation in the requirement of minimum marks upto 5% for OBC / OEC is applicable. SC/ST candidates need get

only a pass in their qualifying examination for admission to the Post Graduate Programmes. Eligibility

criteria are given along with the description of each course. 2. Students under grade system (CCSS): For each PG programme there will be a set of eligible UG

programmes. Either of the below given options (Option1 or Option 2) will be the general criteria for

fixing the eligibility for each programme. Option 1 is based on the overall CGPA and Option 2 is based

on the CGPA in each core and complementary courses. The following system is provided for a CGPA

with 0-4 point scale. For other scales, the eligibility will be determined by keeping the same proportion.

For OBC/OEC candidates, Minimum eligibility will be 1.8 in the overall

CGPA. For OEC candidates as per rules.

For SC/ST students, the minimum eligibility will

Eligibility

a) (10 + 2) of Kerala, H.S.C Board or equivalent Board of any state. b) Where 10 + 2 scheme is not introduced, candidates must have passed after 11 years schooling

the higher secondary pre university, pre-Engineering of Equivalent examination of any recognized

University of Board of any state. c) Passing of 10 + 2 any course in architecture, interior, civil engineering, construction technology

building supervisor, architectural assistantship, architectural, civil draughtsman ship or similar courses in architectural, civil MCVC of any other technology in which engineering drawing is

covered – all recognized by the Technical Education Board Kerala or equivalent Universities and Board of any state.

d) Preference shall be given to the students who have passed design aptitude test (iDAT).

Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend studio test and interview. Interior Design Aptitude Test (iDAT) for eligible candidates for BID (Bachelor of Interior Design) will be held at the

concerned Programme centres.

Candidates who have secured a bachelor degree of the University of Calicut or any other recognized University with n ot less than 45% marks in aggregate shall be eligible to apply for admission to

PGDTVPP & PGDTVNPA Programmes. Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Communities (SEBC) as referred to by the Government of Kerala.

SC/ST candidates need to have only a pass in their degree examinations. Those awaiting results of their

degree examinations can also apply. But such candidates will be admitted on production of the mark sheet of the qualifying examination, on or before the date notified for admission.

Admission Criteria

Admission to the above programmes shall be based on the performance of students in an aptitude test conducted by the SDE of the University. Graduates in Communication and Journalism and

Multimedia will be given a weightage of 15 marks.

Eligibility for admission

Candidates who have secured a bachelor degree of the University of Calicut or any other recognized

University with not less than 45% marks in aggregate shall be eligible to apply for admission to PGDMM & PGDWT Programmes. Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to candidates belonging to Socially

and Educationally Backward Communities (SEBC) as referred to by the Government of Kerala. SC/ST candidates need to have only a pass in their degree examinations. Those awaiting results of their

degree examinations can also apply. But such candidates will be admitted on production of the mark

sheet of the qualifying examination, on or before the date notified for admission.

subjects or fine arts subject in their degree courses and those who have secured diploma/certificate in computer/IT related subjects/fine arts will be given weightage as indicated below

2 B Tech/BE or any degree in computer/IT related subjects/BFA 10 Marks

3 Diploma in Computer/IT subjects of 10 months duration or more 5 marks

4 Certificate/short term courses in IT/Computer subjects 3 marks

Candidates will be given weightage in only one of the categories, whichever is highest. To earn

weightage, candidates should produce relevant degree/diploma/certificates.

Counselling centres are requested to read carefully the prospectus for details of courses and

fee before registering the candidates.

b) Log on to www.universityofcalicut.info with DD and a recent passport size photograph for uploading in JPEG format (below 40 KB)

c) Click the link “SDE – Overseas Admission 2014” to get the online application.

d) Fill in all the columns and submit.

e) Take the printout of the application.
