Prof. Mohan Kameswaran is the Managing Director & Senior Consultant of Otolaryngology at Madras ENT Research Foundation, Chennai. He is Adjunct Professor of Otolaryngology at the Medical University at Chennai and Visiting Professor of Otolaryngology to Annamalai University, Chidambaram & Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute, Chennai. He has been Conferred National Award 'PADMA SHRI' by President APJ Abdul Kalam, Government of India in 2006. He was alsoConferred 'AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE OF SERVICE' in appreciation of contribution to Pioneer Cochlear Implant Program in Srilanka, by H E President of Srilanka, Colombo, June 2006 & Conferred 'DOCTOR OF SCIENCE (Honoris Causa)' by The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University in September 2008.He is one of the pioneers of Cochlear Implant Surgery in India and was responsible for starting Cochlear Implant surgery in many cities in India, Sri Lanka & Nepal. He is the FIRST Surgeon in South and South East Asia to have performed the AUDITORY BRAIN STEM IMPLANT and the FIRST PAEDIATRIC BRAINSTEM IMPLANT in Asia, January 2009. He is also the FIRST surgeon in Asia Pacific region to have performed the TOTALLY IMPLANTABLE HEARING DEVICE surgery.
He is an Otologist Surgeon at the Causse Ear Clinic in Béziers, Tertierral Referral Center (France) since 1991.
He has sub-specialized in Otosclerosis Surgery, Ossicular Reconstruction and Congenital Malformation of the Middle Ear. To his credit he has the largest World Series and experience in surgery for otosclerosis along with various publications to his name. To name a few: - DESIGN OF NEW SURGICAL TECHNIQUES AND MIDDLE EAR PROSTHESES:- The Malleus Relocation Technique for Ossicular Reconstruction - Published in 2004- The Silastic Banding Technique for Ossicular Reconstruction - Published in 2005- The Universal Middle Ear Prosthesis (made with Medtronic Inc. - ).- The Malleus Replacement Prosthesis (made with Kurz Inc. - Tu¨binger, Germany). He is also a member of various international otology societies.

Shruti ENT Hospital & Cochlear Implant centre on the eve of completion of 50 successful
cochlear implant surgeries in the period of 3 years announces its first Live Ear Surgery th thWorkshop on the 27 & 28 of January, 2012, to be held at the hotel Gateway Taj, on the
banks of river Tapti.
The workshop is an excellent combination of live surgical demonstrations, lectures and panel discussions amongst the most eminent otologists from across the country. We have amongst us Dr Robert Vincent, from Causse clinic, France who will be demonstrating for the first time in our state his renowned silastic banding and malleus repositioning techniques apart from laser assisted stapedotomy. We are also fortunate to have Padmashree Prof. Dr Mohan Kameswaran as the course director, who not only would demonstrate surgeries but also take part in educational panel discussions.
