Scope of Works

The following is a brief description of the special

conditions and intended Scope of Works as is required

by the Ministry of Justice Project Coordinator.

A Purpose of Works

The purpose of the proposed renovation and upgrading

works to be carried out is to modernize the court building

to impove the Jamaica Justice System The works to be

carried out involve;

( a ) External and internal painting

( b ) Fixing and replacement of all existing windows and

doors

( c ) Extensive fixing and replacement of plumbing fixture

and water suppy installation

( d ) Replacement of lighting fixture and removal of

ceiling/ wall fans

( e ) Refinishing of wooden floors

( f ) Extensive refinishing of concrete or terazzo floors

( g ) Installation of air-conditioning units including cost of

attendant electrical installation

( h ) Reburbrishing of courtroom furniture

( j ) Fixing of suspended and concrete ceilings

( k ) Contruction of internal drywalls

( g ) Minor concrete blockwall construction

B Site Restrictions ;

( a ) Movement of personel

( b ) Silent zone (throughout the day)

C Special Considerations:

( a ) Night work will be required

( b ) Storage of material, and equipment

( c ) Estimate subjected to review after three months

D Safety requirements:

( a ) PPE

( b) Safety boots, Hard hat, visibility vest etc.

( c ) Clean site regularly to maintain a safe & healthy

environment for works and the public.
