Volunteers paint blazes, clip annual growth, and repair treadway erosion. Adopters choose to maintain their favorite segment of the Appalachian Trail, which promotes a greater sense of responsibility and satisfaction in caring for a national resource. Paddling . . . opportunities can be enjoyed over a range of an individual’s capabilities during all seasons.
