The Solution
• Expand the children’s section to hold more books and meet demands
• Create a teen section to gain new patrons
• Add gathering areas with comfortable seating for children, parents, and teens
• Create a cozy adult reading area, away from children’s section
Create a warm and comfortable space that welcomes everyone
Update the old story time room to become a community gathering space
for events and activities
• Create a new dedicated story time room in old Periodical Storage area
The Solution
Create a warm and comfortable space that welcomes everyone
• Remove shelves along wall• Add kid-height windows on
wall and replace door with glass door to see into room
• Add additional fire exit• Add a sink for crafts• Add electrical outlets• Carpet floor to add warmth
The Solution
• Replace mauve carpet with neutral carpet squares throughout
• Paint all walls a warm, neutral color, removing the burgundy band around the perimeter
• Replace soft chairs in adult reading area
• Replace worn out tables and chairs with tables of varying sizes and shapes to accommodate groups
• Add fun and comfy seating for kids in children and teen areas
• Replace outdated signage on interior walls
Update worn out furnishings throughout the library
• Place a single, size-appropriate table and chairs in the meeting room
• Add a projection device and screen
The Solution
• Provide more areas for working on personal technology devices
• Add more electrical outlets throughout the building
• Group public computers into small pods to enable collaborative learning
• Add security cameras to monitor building activity
Add technology-friendly work areas and security
Empty file cabinets will be removed and area will be
converted to a countertop height work area with electrical outlets

• In order to make this renovation plan a reality, full funding must be obtained
• The Sheldon Library Board of Trustees is seeking donations that will help us to create a great library that will better serve the community.
