Amicrophone, sometimes colloquially called amic ormike, is an acoustic-to-electric transducer or sensorthat converts sound into an electrical signal.
Microphones are used in many applications such astelephones, tape recorders, hearing aids, motionpicture production, live and recorded audioengineering, in radio and television broadcasting and incomputers for recording voice, VOIP(voice over
internet protocol), and for non-acoustic purposes suchas ultrasonic checking.
