You will:• work in teams

• choose a product (product, service, experience) from one of our Okanagan industries that we visit

• create a marketing proposal that would further develop the market for that product

PROPOSAL COMPONENTS

Each marketing proposal should include:

1. Name and description of business product

2. Market comparison: Canada and Japan

3. Marketing rationale and strategy

4. Marketing plan: target group/timeline /SWOT

5. Budget

FINAL ORAL PRESENTATION

Each group will be given 20 minutes to present their marketing proposal to a panel of judges.

EVALUATION

A marketing evaluation panel will:

• assess each group

• determine if presentation of marketing proposal fulfills the following 10 requirements:

EVALUATION REQUIREMENTS1. There is evidence of a clear marketing rationale and strategy

2. Team has a thorough understanding of the product and market demand

3. Product is compared to existing Japanese product/service

4. Team effectively addresses the needs/wants of the target group

5. Marketing plan timeline is realistic and achievable

6. SWOT analysis is discussed effectively

7. An estimated budget is provided

8. Each team member participates in the presentation and effectively presents their segment of the project

9. Presentation is prepared, organized and professionally delivered

10. Presentation materials are effective and relevant
