IfeltthesamewaybecauseIhavebeenkindofquiet,myself,since9/11.IbecameverydisenchantedwiththecountryIliveinsince9/11,butseeingRobertDeancomingbackintothespeakingcircuitwasaninspirationtome.

ImveryinspiredtoseemydearfriendRobertDeandecidetocomebackandbegintotalkwithusagainbecauseIbelievewhathehastosay,andjusthisappearance,justhisperson,isenoughtoinspiremanypeople.So,thatswhyIaskedifIcouldhavethepleasureofannouncinghim,mydearfriendRobertDean;IcallhimBob.

So,IvebeeninspiredbyBobDeanovertheyears.WejusttalkedrecentlyandasIsaid,hetoldmethathehasdecidedtobegintospeaktothepublicagain,whichhasactuallyinspiredmetodothesame.

TheressomuchIwouldliketobeabletosaythatIhavebeenquiteliterallyafraidtosayinpublic.TheBushregimefrightenedme,scaredme,andifyouknowwhatwasreallygoingonwiththeBush

regime,itwouldscareyoutoo.ItwasafrighteningpresenceonAmericansoil,theBushregime.Whatwevegotnowisnotmuchbetter.

OhmyGod!ThoseSpaniardsarereallysomethingelse!Theyputonashowthere,inBarcelona,thelastweekinJulythatwasoutstanding.1,500peopleshowedupandtheyhadstandingroom.

ItwasahellofagoodconferenceandIwashonoredtobeinvited[alongwith]StevenGreer,StevenBassett,whoIwilltouchupon

brieflyinafewminutes.IwasgratifiedbytheSpaniardstheyregreathostsandtheyreveryenlightenedandveryinterestedinthissubject.

Asmanyofyou,Imsure,know,thissubjecthasbeenmyfavoritesubjectnowforoverthelast20years.Ivebeenonthisjourneyfor45years,butIvebeenspeakingpubliclyforthelast20.

Ispeakbluntly,openly,andIviolatemyNationalSecurityOatheverytimeIopenmymouth,[applause]andIplantoviolatemyNationalSecurityOathtonight.[applause/hoots]

Butagain,aspecialthanksforyouguysbecauseIwouldntbehereifitwerentforyou.ImsoencouragedbythepeopleImeetattheseconferencesbecause,notonlyareyouopen-minded,butyoureenlightened,andyoureenthused,becauseIthinkyouvelearned,asIhave,thatthissubjectis,inmyopinion,thegreateststoryinhumanhistory,becauseitisthestoryOFhumanhistory.

Werenotalone,guys,andwehaveneverbeenalone.Wearemembersofaninfiniteuniversefilledwithinfiniteintelligentlife.Wehavehadanintimateinterrelationshipwithseveraladvancedextraterrestrialintelligencesnowfor,oh,atleast10,000years.

Theevidenceisprettyoverwhelmingthatatleastone,perhapstwo,ofthosedifferentgroupshadahandinengineeringthehumangenomeover100,000yearsago.Thatevidenceisliterallyoverwhelming.

Now,weregoingtotouchuponawholebunchofstuff,andIwantyoutounderstand,IhavecometothepointinmylifewhereIhavebecomealmostsympathetictothegovernmentforkeepingthelidonthis

IknowthatmanyofyouprobablymostofyouareawareofthefamousBrookingsReport.NASAgaveacontracttotheBrookingsInstituteinthelate50s,andthebasicpointwassimplythis:TrytofindoutWhatshouldwedoifwe,inthefuture,shouldencounteradvancedextraterrestrialintelligence?

Theyworkedonthisthingforthreeyears,publisheditin61,deliveredittoCongressin61,andtheyconcludedasaresultofthisstudythat,ifweshould,indeedatsomepoint,runintoadvancedextraterrestrialintelligence,itwouldprobablybeagoodideatokeepyourmouthsshutandnottellthemassesofpeople.

Now,MargaretMeadwasonthecommittee,andshedhadexperiencesintheSouthPacificwithprimitivesocietieswheretheyhadbeenconfrontedbyouradvancedculture,andthoseprimitivesocieties

shriveledanddied.TheconclusionoftheBrookingsstudywasthat,ifwe,indeed,wouldencounteradvancedextraterrestrialintelligence,weprobablyshouldnttellthemassesofpeoplebecausesociologically,theologically,scientifically,itwouldbeadamndisaster.

So,theypublishedthatstudyanditliterallybecamenationalpolicy.Itsoneofthemajorreasonswhythelidhasbeenkeptdownsotightlyonthisthingforsolong.

AsIsaid,itsnotsimplythatwerebeingvisitedbyguysfromother

planets.Itisntsimplythatwerebeingvisitedbyguysfromotherstarsystems,norarewebeingvisited,youknow,fromothergalaxies.GoodGod!Thoseareallgiven.

TheyalsolearnedandtheyknewthatwhenIretiredin76thatwerebeingvisitedbyguysfromotherdimensions.Theyrecomingthroughportals,apparently.Theycreateportals,apparently,andtheyrecomingandgoingfromotherdimensions.Themoreadvancedsocietieswehaveencounteredhavebeenmultidimensional.

Isntthatprettydamnedimpressive?WhowouldhaveeverthoughtthattheAmericanpeoplecouldelectablackPresident?

Listen,guys,Imfromthelastcentury;thatisdynamitetome.Myheartgoesouttothatkid,becauseheslikeable,hespersonable,andhesbright,andIwishhimwell.Ihopetohellhecanpullitoff;hesgotsomuch--damnmuch--onhisplate.
