Generalization

- The progressive tense expresses action or being that is in progress or on-going. The action may be in the present, past or future.

- Be verbs like am , is , are used to show present progressive tense. Be verbs like was , were are used to show past progressive tense. The word will + be and the main verb are used to show past progressive tense. The main verb

should end with –ing.
