Program Area Review Team: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs
The Board decided:
Whereas, it has been ten years since amalgamation and the program and services delivered to the deaf and hard of hearing population continue to be centrally located at Davisville School/Metro Toronto School for the Deaf; and
Whereas, many elementary school students are traveling over ten kilometres across the city to attend either their program school or Davisville School/Metro Toronto School for the Deaf; and
Whereas, current medical advancements require that the Board regularly review and monitor its best practices regarding the delivery of programs and services for the deaf and hard of hearing population;
Therefore, be it resolved that a Program Area Review Team be established as soon as possible to consider the Board’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing programs and services.
