Lulled in the bosoms of the lush green paddy fields, just one and a half kms away from the hustle and bustle of Thiruvalla town in Pathanamthitta District, lies Christ Central School in a serene and salubri-ous atmosphere sprawling in an area of 8 acres. The eco-friendly campus and the surrounding provides an ideal atmosphere for education.

Christ Central School Thiruvalla is a co-educational English Medium School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi (Aff. No. 930459). Christ Central School is owned and managed by the Catholic missionary fathers of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate - the CMI congregation.

St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara who was born on 10th of February 1805 in Kainakary, Kerala was instrumental in founding the CMI Congregation for the spiritual re-newal and all round development of the society.

It is a part of the St. Joseph’s Province, Thiruvanan-thapuram and is under the management of Kuria-kose Elias Educational Trust (KEET) and the imme-diate management is by Mar Baselios CMI Monastery Muthoor, Thiruvalla. The institution has all the rights and privileges granted by the constitution of India as a minority educational institution.

We attempt to create an atmosphere of peace, freedom, care and security in which the Christites are nurtured to expand their horizons and grow. The school awakens the intelligence and the spirit of generosity in students.

ENRICHING EXPERIENCEThe school believes in providing rich cultural values to all its students and to put it into reality. It gives training to the children in Music, Dance and other art forms. The students are also given a chance to take part in different celebrations and competitions.

STUDY TOURTo have a break from the monotonous routine, the students are taken for a study tour every year. It encourages companionship among students and develops social skills like sharing and caring.

CLASS ASSEMBLYClass Assembly is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday. This is indeed a training ground for the students who are given a chance to present different programmes on stage.

GUIDANCE & COUNSELLING CELL

The school has a full time qualified counsellor to provide guidance and counselling to students with various problems.

SPORTS AND GAMESIn an era where physical training is taking a back seat, coaching is given to students in basketball, football, throw ball and badminton by formally trained coaches. The children are taken to participate in different inter school tournaments. The school also organizes interschool tournaments for basketball and badminton.

ST CHAVARA BOARDING HOUSEThe St. Chavara Boarding House accommodates the boys of the school under the supervision of dedicated teachers and CMI Fathers. The girls of the school are provided accommodation in the Carmelaram Convent Boarding House run by CMC sisters. They are provided with special training and care.

TRANSPORTATIONThe school provides transportation facility to the students. Travelling by school bus is an occasion to cultivate good habits like patience, co-operation and concern for others. Parents have to register their children with the details of boarding and alighting points at the office in the prescribed form.

Those students desiring to make use of bus facility have to register for the whole year - June to March (10 months) and pay the fees in advance on monthly or annual basis and acquire the bus pass.

OFFICEIn order to provide the best service the routine office transactions such as issue of certificates, daily accounts and financial dealings connected with the school are done through the school office which functions from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm on regular week days.

CHARITY DRIVETo understand the pain and pangs of the homeless, a charity drive is being undertaken to construct a home every year for the needy. The school also organizes different charity programmes like visiting the less privileged and providing food and dress materials for them.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATIONThe passed out students get a chance to meet each other and to exhibit their love for their Alma Mater by attending the Alumni meeting conducted during the Christmas vacation every year.

DINING HALL The school provides nutritious food to the students in a healthy and hygienic environment. The students are also provided with refreshment after their hectic schedule.

REMEDIAL COACHINGRemedial coaching is given to the weak students after the regular working hours. Teachers help the students to overcome the problems in learning their daily lessons.

PTAWe maintain a cordial relationship between parents and teachers concentrating on the development of their wards. After each examination, parents are duly informed to turn up to have a comprehensive report on their ward’s progress, both academic and social.

HOUSE SYSTEMStudents are grouped into four different houses and they participate in all the activities and competitions representing the house concerned. This helps them develop leadership qualities.

Std. KG to VIII

1. Pupils seeking admission to L.K.G, U.K.G & Std I should register their names before the end of January.

2. There will be no written test for the students seeking admission to the K.G. Section.

Age Limits on Admission LKG – Age 4 as on 31st May UKG – Age 5 as on 31st May 1st Std – Age 6 as on 31st May

3. The admission to the other classes will be based on the availability of seats and the applicants’ performance in the entrance test as per schedule.

4. The students will be tested in their basic knowledge of English, Mathematics and Science based on the topics they have learnt in the previous year.

5. The entrance exam is for a duration of two hours and the results of the same will be announced on the next working day. The results will be published on the school notice board and can also be enquired over the phone.

6. Short listed candidates will have to appear for an interview with the Principal on the specified day.

7. The candidate must be accompanied by his/her parent at the time of interview. Attested copy of the birth certificate of the candidate must be submitted to the office along with their application form in advance.

8. The students must submit their T.C to the school office at least by the 2nd week of June.
