About the designer Franklin von Winckelmann is an entrepreneur and the designer of VonWinckelmann. Since 2004 he has created sophisticated lifestyle collections that surpass in authenticity and timelessness which have been internationally praised. Collections 2016: Imperfect denim, authentic and sustainable With his authentic industrial home textile accessories and sophisticated men’s apparel, designer Franklin von Winckelmann presents two new collections for 2016. Design Living by VonWinckelmann As a follow up to the success of the 2015 collection, the 2016 Design Living collection brings sustainable, industrial carpets and cushions made of imperfect denim. The textiles are handwoven, knotted and dyed with natural indigo dyes; an innovative technique which is combined with traditional Balinese techniques such as steaming leaves and hand painted graphic designs. The remaining dark-colored imprints and the irregular surface of the nonchalantly knotted seams give a unique and rugged feeling to the collection, which compliment a Rough Interior concept. Smart Apparel Hearkening to the latest ‘’fashion system is dead’’ movement, VonWinckelmann responds to this through reducing his new men’s apparel collection to two appropriate outfits for random moments of wear. The Spring 2016 Smart Apparel collection is made up of dress shirts, wide cut culotte shaped trousers and oversized denim chinos and walkshorts that can be combined with a tailored denim vest or blazer and sneaker. The result is a sophisticated, but also, trendy collection. The production of Apparel and Design Living products takes place in Bali (Indonesia) in collaboration with specialized local companies. In this way the exclusive and handcrafted character can be ensured. The Fair Trade conditions are monitored under auspices of Franklin von Winckelmann.
