1. INTRODUCTION

Tomling Projects Sdn. Bhd. was registered in Malaysia on 8th July 2011 and since has been in operation in

the state of Sarawak.

The company has a professional team with more than 15 years of experience in designing a variety of steel

roof structure and in installation works. The company has developed its own steel roof truss system called

‘Tomling’.

The objective of the company is to meet high level of engineering and safety standards by using Australia

Standard License Software, and in its designs of steel roof structure.

In June 2016, the company has 74 employees. The company is registered as a CIDB (Construction Industry

Development Board) Malaysia License Contractor –Registration No. 0120150730-SR164934.

5. COMPANY LEADERSHIP & WORKFORCE

5.1 Managing Director

The MD of the company, Mr. THOMAS SIEW WU, I/C No. 700523-13-5033, graduated with a HND

(Higher National Diploma) from Federal Institute of Technology in Kuala Lumpur in 1993, majoring in

Mechanical Engineering.

In 2001, he joined UAC Steel Systems Sdn. Bhd., a well-known company in the construction of steel roof

truss system and related roofing works in Kuala Lumpur, as a Project Engineer.

In 2006, he was invited by Hasmit Shield Roofing Manufacture Sdn. Bhd., an associate of Goldmyne

Hardware Sdn. Bhd. in Brunei Darussalam to be a business partner of a newly established company. This

career advancement has given him the opportunity to further excel as the company was awarded and had

completed numerous major housing and commercial projects in Brunei Darussalam.

In 2011, after exploring the potential of the construction market in Sarawak, Sabah and Wilayah

Persekutuan Labuan, Thomas decided to return to his home state Sarawak and to focus on the Sarawak’s

construction market. He then founded ‘Tomling Projects Sdn. Bhd.’

5.2 Qualification of Roofing Supervisors &Installers

In June 2016, Tomling Projects Sdn. Bhd. has a team of 3 Project Supervisors and 6 groups with a total of

62 Site Workers. All of them are highly trained professional installers in roofing works. All of them have

attended Green Card Programme under CIDB and are holders of Construction Personnel Card (Green Card).

The Managing Director, Mr. Thomas Siew Wu is also personally involved in enhancing their efficiency and

productivity.

5.3 The Organization of the 6 Groups of Site Workers

The total number of site workers are divided into 6 groups, each with a group leader. The details as in

Appendix (i)

The company regards the quality of materials as the most important for high level of strength and flexibility

in the designs of steel roof truss system. The certified advantages and quality assurance of the Galvanized
