Personal Profile

In addition to my Curriculum Vitae allow me to share a few related thoughts.

Although 63 years old I am in good health and am involved in a daily exercise program, recently having completed my second Argus Cycle tour. Am therefore quite capable of coaching sport , taking young people on camps or tours. As detailed in my CV my sporting preferences and experience includes Hockey, Cricket and Soccer as the main focus but Tennis/Squash and Badminton are not far behind in my interest field.

I have also written, acted in and produced plays and have directed numerous plays and musicals at school level and would be delighted to assist in this if required.

At present having resigned from my last Headmastership as a personal decision to reinvent myself after over 40 years in Education Leadership positions at State and Private Schools in 3 countries, I am running seminars as follows:

1. Education: Restorative Justice (at learner level/Teacher level and Parent level) Bullying: Teacher and Learner level (overlaps with the above topic) Study Skills (identification of which type a learner best uses) Classroom Teaching/Management Groundstaff Training and upliftment- The “how to’s of keeping a school shipshape. New Teacher Mentoring Management & Leadership for SMT’s as well as mentoring and guiding newly appointed

principals or principals needing a new vision/direction Strategic Planning (this includes the financial aspects) Conflict Resolution How to live in the Positive Lane (Education as well as Corporate)

2. General: Corporate Team Building & Team Training: Will be training the Kariba Water Authority at

Lake Kariba (ZAMBIA) in October 2016. (46 participants from upper and middle management)

Management and Leadership at various levels in the Corporate world Entrepreneurial skills3. Brain Profiling: I am qualified in and able to use brain profiling instruments which enable

participants in seminars to better understand their own skills/talents and where they can be best used.

As the Vice Chair of the Umalusi Accreditation Committee of Council I am well versed with the process of the accreditation and quality management in the Education sector. (This includes all independent Education Institutions below University level)

The above seminars can be geared to Primary or High School as I have been intimately involved in both sectors for many years.

I am also well experienced in the International Baccalaureate Curriculum (IB/MYP/PYP) as well as the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) and the National Curriculum of South Africa (NSC)

At a teaching level I recently taught English at Grade 10/11/12 level for the first term of 2016. This was at Tafelberg School in Cape Town. I will also be teaching Grade 6 and 7 (English/Maths/Science) starting on 25 July 2016. This is a “fill in” position while a teacher has an operation. (Blouberg Ridge Primary)

In addition to the above I have been asked to teach Advanced Program English at St Cyprians during the 3rd term of 2016.
