• Professional Development– Monthly Meetings– Annual Day in May event

• Goals– Each committee or event has a specific 20/20 Cultural Goal associated, decided by committee overseeing

project/event and marketed when advertising event.– Example: Day in May – Better Together, Inspire Excellence

• Events– Holiday Luncheon

• PSSA hosts a holiday pot-luck luncheon for all part-time and full time staff members each November» Event includes: door prizes, food, and entertainment.

– Day in May• Annual professional development event

– Field trips to museums, escape rooms, historical sites, or conference style event takes place each May.

– Love Your Part-Timer• An event to thank part-timers for their hard work and dedication.

– Also a resource fair with valuable information at booths, including: Universities to obtain Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, resume writing, campus job openings, food, door prizes, and entertainment.

• Giving Tree (November/December)• Assist single parent students and staff members who need anonymous assistance purchasing Christmas gifts for their

children. Tags are pulled from trees and gifts distributed to recipients in a confidential manner.• Days of Caring (December)• Partner with Salvation Army, United Way, and Toys for Tots to sort, package, and distribute gifts for those less

fortunate in Montgomery County.• Dress for Success (February)• Partner with the TRAC Center to collect gently used business clothes for students in need to look professional during

interviews and starting new jobs. • Love Fosters Hope (April)• Collect flip flops and beach towels for children in foster care attending summer camp.• Food Drive (ongoing)

All of the events play a key role in establishing collaboration and building trust among colleagues.

The goal of PSSA at LSC-North Harris is to increase participation, camaraderie, and morale among our staff members. In alignment with this, our events are tied to the LSC core cultural beliefs and our aim is

to make sure staff feel valued and know they play an integral part in the success of LSC-North Harris and our students.

• A Few UP-PSSA Events:– PSSA Meetings

• (2x a Semester in Fall/Spring; 1x over Summer)– Summer BBQ

• Partner with PSSA SOUP– Ice Cream Social– PT Staff Appreciation Lunch & Dinner

• Attended by ~100 PT Staff & Supervisors– UP Pride Sightings

• PSSA delivers regular “Pride Sightings” to UP Staff that have been caught by colleagues exemplifying the LSC Cultural Beliefs.

• PSSA-UP is currently working to develop a partnership with Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) in efforts to involve LSC-UP staff in service to the local community.
