PLAYGROUND PROJECT This is your chance to come to Uganda for 2 weeks to experience new culture and to share your time, skills and knowledge.

PREPARATION EAP will support your team every step of the way with fundraising materials, ideas and organised events for fundraising. We also provide advice prior to the trip on climate; Ugandan culture and general travel ensuring volunteers are fully supported and prepared for their project. This support will continue in Uganda with an experienced leader on your project.

VOLUNTEER: Playground build Working alongside our professional Ugandan playground building team and the community, the group will help build an inspiring playground giving children that all important space to explore, discover and develop through play, gaining vital skills and having fun.

VOLUNTEER: Art and Play Clubs Building on the importance of a creative environment, the afternoons are the team’s chance to get involved in school life. By supporting the Arts and Play Clubs, the team get to inspire children and teachers alike to think more creatively and to develop problem solving skills, seeing the real positives that play has to offer.

ACTIVITIES To make the most of the teams time in Uganda we offer one of two activities; an unforgettable safari allowing you to walk with rhinos or the chance to take on the famous white water of the river Nile in a raft - experiences your team will never forget!

EAST AFRICAN PLAYGROUNDS East African Playgrounds was set in 2009 with just 8 volunteers building 1 playground. EAP believes that everyone should have the right to play, explore and discover, and that includes adults in the UK. This project is designed especially for adults who would like to come out to Uganda, experience a new culture and actually make a difference. We have no age limits, although if you would like to bring your child they would have to be +10 years (when in Uganda) and your responsibility. The project will be tailor-made to the group, making it a truly unique experience.

PLAY TIME A playground offers children the space to make sense of any problems they might be facing through role play and imaginative games. It is a positive asset for any community, accommodating an array of opportunities in terms of child development and community cohesion. Our playgrounds give children, who otherwise have a difficult life, the chance and the space to have fun. By providing an environment that promotes unstructured play it encourages children to think for themselves thus gaining vital problem solving skills, which are often missing in classroom teaching.
