Production Pitch

Seska FordProduction Pitch 1. A promotion package for the release of an album, to include a music promo video, together with two of the following three options: a website homepage for the band; a cover for its release on DVD; a magazine advertisement for the DVD.

I enjoy watching music videos on television and online and linking the story line to the lyrics. Different songs create different moods and atmospheres, and it would be interesting to experiment with the different stories that the music inspires.Chosen briefI am a big fan of narrative and interpretive videos, because you can explore others emotions and situations as well as share your own experiences with others through the video.Music, I feel, is a way to get feelings out and link with others who feel the same. Because of this I tend to steer towards film noir and queer cinema (a relatively new genre introduced in 1992).My preferred music genre is Alternative, and this genre tends to focus more on dark or bleak themes anyway. They also are more likely to have Vampiric/horror themes. Genre

In AS Media we only had to plan, film, and edit our end product. In A2 Media as well as planning, filming, and editing our final product, we also have to produce at least two of the extra tasks. My fear is that I will underestimate the time and work needed to complete the extra tasks, and will only focus on my main piece. How does it differ from the AS brief?Ideas: Location

Going with the horror genre, I really like the use of fake blood. It adds shock factor to scenes, and tells the audience immediately that something isnt right. The main character being trapped in a dark booth, filming an extreme close up on his mouth as he mimes the lyrics. The ending scene being a mid shot of a Christian cross that becomes splattered with blood. This leaves heavy implications of death without showing it properly.

I would plan for an age rating of fifteen, as it is the oldest I can film to. Id like to make it a fifteen because of the dark themes, the challenging of religion (which can be a touchy subject), and use of horror makeup. The audience I am aiming at is mid to older teens with a love for vampires. Since the Twilight saga vampires have become very popular again, enjoyed not only by the misfit stereotypes such as goths, but also a more common audience as vampires have become a big part of pop culture.Audience- who are you aiming at and why?
