2. I would like New Line Cinema to produce the film that I ammaking, this is because you have produced similar productswhich fall into the same genre as my film. You haveproduced movies such as The Conjuring, Friday the 13th andNightmare on Elm Street which are all successful horror filmswhich shows that your company will suit my film due to thegenre I have chose. You are also supported by a major conglomerate (WarnerBros.) who therefore can supply funding for the film in orderfor it to be widely distributed onto several cinema screens.Due to Warner Bros. owning subsidiaries such as WarnerTelevision and The CW Television Network they can helppromote my film through the use of synergy by using theirsubsidiaries. 3. Product that New Line Cinema produce: 4. Conventions of genreBased on my research I have established what I need to include in myfilm trailer in order for it to appeal to my target audience. They sometimes use a handheld camera to generate a more realisticeffect and involve the audience as they feel more excited by the factit gives a more tangible feel to the movie as they feel they areinvolved within the film. In the horror films they also used cantedangles and extreme close ups to build up tension in the movie andgenerate a more horrific effect for the viewers watching. They also use props such as knives, saws or guns to send terror downtheir victims spines. There is also a lot of blood and make-up used inorder for the film to be effective and more terrifying. The victim isalways seen as helpless but sometimes challenges the genre anddestroys the villain but mainly its a hunt for the victim and then thevillain kills them in the most horrible way.Another element which I have considered is sound, lots of nondiegetic sound will help make the scene feel more tense andenergetic as the villain hunts for his victim. The use of doorsslamming, screaming and footsteps make the scene that little bitcreepier. 5. My production workThe story line of my film is based on a frightening true story, the film consist of afamily living in a house which has a scary secret behind it. There is a murderer wholives beneath the house in a secret compartment who comes alive at night andhaunts them. His main mission is to strike fear into the people living inside the housethen kill them when the time is right. He has a strange past which he unleashes onhis victims. The question is will they find him first before its too late? This will be suitable for the Warner Bros. company because they publish similarproducts to this so it shows they are an established horror producing conglomeratewhich is what I need in order to make my film successful. 6. Target audienceMy target audience are ages 15-25, who have interests in the horrorarea. The gender of my audience is male leaning so its more for malesthan women. My film trailer will appeal to this audience because I will be using youngcharacters in that age bracket in order to appeal to my young audience, this gives them a little more interaction with the characters as theymight act like they do. I will also be including a lot of violent sceneswhich will contain a lot of blood and violence which appeals to youngmales as they are seen as being crazy and hyperactive when they seeviolence unveiling. 7. Blood and gore to create acreepier effect.Introduction to the storyline whichdisplays the film is about a true storywhich frightens the viewer. The villains mask who wears it tohide his identity to scare hisvictimsA close up of the villainsface so you see hisidentity in the endThis is an abandoned location where horror films areshot to show isolation and fear as no one can hearyou scream. This is a prop that I am going to usein the trailer,This is so the murderer can torturehis victim and attack them. This is the setting, I would like it to be dark sothat it makes the trailer more frightening asthats when bad things happen (at night).
