The British film production company Film 4 is owned by the well know TV broadcaster, Channel Four. Film4 was started in 1982 as Film4 Productions and has been responsible for backing a large number of films made in the United Kingdom, and around the world.

The company's first production was ‘Walter’, directed by Stephen Frears, which was released in 1982. Film4 originally didn’t broadcast many blockbusters, but has gradually

started to broadcasts many mainstream Hollywood films.

Its slogan is ‘Great Films For Free’ as its now been made into a freeview channel, thus allowing everyone to view films without charge.

BigTalk on their website has described their company as: ‘the company has expanded significantly and, alongside it, so has the breadth and scope of the material being developed and produced’. Simon Pegg works very closely alongside this particular film company and has stared in and produced a good few films such as: Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead and Paul. They have also produced films mainly around the comedy, horror type genres.

I feel from my research that big talk are a rapidly growing film company that produce quality films that explore all the different opportunities for film making. A snip it from their website states that, ‘Big Talk continues to work with some of the most exciting voices in both the UK and the US to bring fresh, dynamic, authored stories to the big screen’.
