Innovation that
IMPROVES OUTCOMES WHILE SAVING YOU TIME.Many companies claim to develop innovative products, but their products are not better or different than any other product. Our solutions are designed for you and the way you work, not the other way around. The result? Solutions that look and perform differently in a way that improves outcomes while saving you time.
PRODUCT SOLUTIONS // Innovation
The Right Detector for the Right ApplicationSun Nuclear manufactures both diode and ion chamber
detectors and arrays. Sun Nuclear’s SunPoint Diode
Detectors offer the benefit of a smaller active area,
better sensitivity, less drift and increased lifetime.
SunPoint Diode Detectors are used for small field/
patient-specific applications due to smaller size and
better performance characteristics for small and
modulated fields.
Ion chambers are used for large field/low-modulation
applications where small size is not necessary. Sun
Nuclear software also supports EPID, Gafchromic film,
and CR detectors.
Quick and Easy Setup
• Patented user calibration (Wide Field Calibration)

Sophisticated treatment options such as Arc, Helical, IGRT, IMRT, and SRS demand equally sophisticated patient specific QA. Modern patient plans are often collections of small beamlets with very steep dose gradients.
Since these dose gradients are too tightly to conform to patient anatomy and PTV accurate veri cation of the dose gradient is critical. Using the right technology is critical. Sun Nuclear o ers a variety of sophisticated treatment options using our advanced
diode detectors, which measure actual delivered dose without the misleading and often hidden e ects of dose volume averaging as seen in ionization chambers.

Routine daily, monthly, and annual tests are prescribed as part of a robust QA and Dosimetry program. For the person taking the routine measurement, tools must be easy to use and reliable.
The physics goal of routine QA is to maximize the data integrity and analysis options. Sun Nuclear is the only company to achieve this goal by o ering a daily device with 25 detectors that performs ve uni ue tests in a single measurement. This goal is
carried a signi cant step further with ATLAS, which centralizes all routine QA and Dosimetry test data in one location, o ering new opportunities in reporting, analysis, and e ciency.

Machine QA should be performed with three primary goals in mind. The first is to foresee an issue before it occurs; the second is to identify an issue as soon as it is measureable; and the third is to apply prior understanding to improve the machine output and stability, and the overall QA program. Many of these goals are re ected in international QA guidelines, and many are easily and accurately accomplished using Sun Nuclear’s line of Machine QA tools. Since the introduction of the PROFILER in 1996, through PROFILER 2,
TomoDose, SRS PROFILER, StereoPHAN, IC PROFILER, and SNC Machine, Sun Nuclear is committed to meeting and exceeding the goals of Machine QA regardless of the challenge or delivery modality.

Tools used for dosimetry and commissioning must be carefully selected. Equal care must be taken to use the tools properly, otherwise incorrect information could be used with serious consequences. It is with this understanding that Sun Nuclear designs dosimetry solutions. Our goal for dosimetry is to maximize the accuracy of the measurement while minimizing the possibility of incorrect use.
