Keeping your hands warm and dry dependson a quality membrane

Durably waterproof, totally windproof and very breathable glove membrane.

Our GORE-TEX products help your hands stay warmer when it's cold and drier when you sweat.

GORE-TEX plus warm products are designed to keep your hands comfortably warmer and protected for longer. In addition to the membrane, GORE-TEX plus warm gloves and mitts are highly insulated.

GORE-TEX active products are the most breathable. During heavy exercise, less heat accumulates and less moisture is trapped in the insulation so it remains drier.

KOMBI’s waterproof, windproof and breathable membrane.

How to layer for extra warmth

Thin and lightweight gloves are meant to be worn inside an insulated glove/mitt. However, in milder temperatures you can wear liners by themselves. Wear them close to your skin to create an extra layer of warmth. Keep them on to avoid direct contact with cold surfaces or when using your phone.

The gloves/mitts we wear the most in any winter conditions. Choose an insulated style combined with a breathable and water-resistant membrane for optimal performance. Combine your insulation gloves/mitts with a liner for even more warmth.

The 3 in 1 glove/mitt is a combination of an insulated glove and a removable liner. Depending on the weather conditions, wear only the liner or the insulated glove, or wear the two together!

How to choose the right size

Ask the client to put their hands in the gloves or mitts.

Ask the client to fold their hands as if holding a ski pole.

Pinch the end of the fingers to make sure there is space at the tip of each finger.

Pinch the exterior side of the hand (where the hand is widest) to make sure the insulation is not compressed.

There should be a gap of 1 cm at the tip of the fingers and on the side of the hand.

The art oflayering

39

Page 39: PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE 21-22

The art of layeringThe weather and your activity level can change during an outing. Layering is key to staying warm, dry and comfortable all day long. There are three types of layers. Each layer has a specific function:

It is the first layer you put on. A good base layer is breathable, soft and wicks away humidity.

On top of the base layer, add an insulated layer to retain your body warmth.

Also called shell. This last layer needs to be water and wind resistant. In cold temperatures, humidity is your enemy. It’s always a good idea to wear all three layers and bring dry extras to change into after time outside.

1. Base layer 2. Middle layer 3. Outer layer

40

Page 40: PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE 21-22

KOMBI layering tipIn extra cold weather, wear two base layers instead of one!

For extra comfort and warmth, wear a tight crew top directly on your skin and add a looser zip top or our Velvet Hoodie over it.
