Cooling

Air-cooled Chillers

The most versatile and commonly used piece of equipment in our fleet is the air-cooled chiller. Using state-of-the-art chillers from Trane, we offer a varied fleet that meet almost any temporary demand. We have the largest capacity in the industry ranging from 25 tons to 500 tons. These units are ideal when speed, ease of installation, and reliability are your primary concerns. They are found in any number of applications ranging from restoring air conditioning in an emergency, to providing temporary cooling for a warehouse, or even an industrial process.

Water-cooled Chillers

At the heart of Rental Services are the core competencies of Trane equipment and services. We have taken the standard Trane water-cooled chiller and modified it for rental applications. Whether it’s providing backup for a large hospital system, adding capacity for a process application, or simply providing a large amount of tonnage in a low footprint in an energy-efficient manner, a water-cooled unit from Trane Rental Services is ready to serve you.

Cooling Towers

Cooling towers can be rented as standalone units or paired with one of our CenTraVac™ water-cooled units. These units are ideal for hospitals, schools, anywhere water applications are used. Some of our cooling towers have been modified and mounted on trailers for easy portability.

Cooling

Heat Exchangers

Temporary heat exchangers are plate-and-frame type and provide fluid-to-fluid heat exchange in chilled/hot water applications. The primary function of a heat exchanger is to allow heat to be transferred from one water loop to another without letting the two water loops come in direct contact with one another.

• Modified for indoor or outdoor use

• Mounted on a steel base with protective frame to allow for lifting and placement with a forklift or crane

• ANSI 300 flange connections

• Shipped with adaptors to allow grooved pipe connections and a manifold fitted with pressure and temperature gauges

• May be used in combination with flexible rental hose for applications up to 150 psi; or up to 300 psi in applications without flexible rental hose

• Note: Freeze protection must be provided by customer for outdoor use in low ambient temperatures

How they are used

• Complement a rental chiller or cooling tower

• Temporarily replace a non-functioning heat exchanger

• If a process requires cooling, but the temperatures are too high to allow the use of a standard chiller

• If a process requires cooling, but the flow rate is too low or too high for a standard chiller

• In combination with an open loop cooling tower to perform the same function as a closed loop cooling tower

• If a process requires the cooling of a fluid that not suitable for use in a standard chiller

Air-handling Units

Our custom engineered air-handling units are the right solution for larger jobs. Outdoor rated and sized for 100 percent outside air, they feature both chilled and hot water coils, high static pressure, and horizontal discharge with 20-inch dampers. Units are equipped with upgraded controls and a VFD for fine-tuning performance to your exact needs, and provide high filter capabilities with up to 95 percent efficient cartridge filters.

Cooling

Air Conditioning Units

Our state-of-the-art air conditioning units provide quiet and efficient temperature control. Commercial air conditioning rental units are packaged as rooftop units designed to provide both heating and cooling. These units are equipped with variable frequency drives (VFD) on 35-ton and 50-ton units. For efficient operation, these units also come with an economizer and remote zone sensors for accurate sensing that is critical to keeping the system running at optimum levels. Our air conditioning units are modified with overhead lifting frames for stable fork-lifting or crane-lifting.

Vertical Units

Our vertical units have been specially designed to meet the specific needs associated with heating and cooling a special event. This unique design allows direct integration into a tent wall for a low-profile appearance and still have the ability to be ducted if necessary. As with most of our equipment, the vertical units have been modified to be rental-ready and have cam-type connections and an upright orientation ideal for tent setup. These units come on a 4-way forklift skid for easy maneuverability.

Portable AC Units

Hot, grueling temperatures can cause heat-sensitive computer servers and other office systems to fail, crippling daily operations. In extreme heat, office spaces and classrooms become stifling and unproductive, if not downright dangerous. With a trend towards smaller, more “heat dense” servers, equipment shutdowns may be more likely to occur as your existing room air conditioner system becomes inadequate. Portable AC units provide supplemental or instant emergency backup cooling to protect your critical equipment during a heat-related crisis.

Portable AC units can do more than just cool–they can also dry wet areas and protect equipment from water and humidity. Portable AC units also eliminate odors and help stop mold from forming. A portable dehumidifier ensures faster recovery with efficient drying rates that take hours instead of weeks, cutting down on the cost of restoration and speeding drying processes.

Electric Heating

Electric heaters from Trane Rental Services provide clean, electric heat that is free from the moisture and fumes associated with other types of heating.

Hot air is discharged horizontally. When used in free blow applications, remove ducting on the front of the unit. Flexible duct is available upon request.

Dehumidification

Desiccant Dehumidification Units

Desiccant dehumidification units (DHU) are highly efficient at providing clean, dehumidified air with minimal electrical power required. The DHUs can be used in free blow o366/r ducted applications. Each unit has a single horizontal supply air connection and a single return air connection and is equipped with a post-cooling coil to aid in reducing leaving air temperatures when required. When used in free blow applications, ducting on the front of the unit must be removed. Flexible duct is available upon request.

Because our temporary cooling solutions need power, Trane also offers a full line of temporary power solutions. These products can also be rented on their own when cooling is not needed. With over 20,000 kW of power, our fleet is capable of meeting any power requirements.

Our products are mounted on dedicated trailers and come with on-board fuel storage. We can provide nationwide field maintenance agreements and GPS monitoring is standard.

With ISO Class 0 Certified rotary screw oil-free air compressors from Ingersoll Rand, Trane Rental Services can supply the pure air required for critical environments with unmatched energy efficiency and peace of mind.

ISO 8573-1: 2010 Class 0 specifies air quality standards for critical manufacturing processes within the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, textile and electronics industries. It is the most stringent class of air quality standards, covering oil contamination in aerosol, vapor and liquid forms.
