PROCEDURE

A Procedure is a text that give instructions for doing something.

The purpose of a Procedure text is to explain how something can be done.

The steps for constructing a Procedure text are:1. An introductory statement giving the aim or goal

- This may be the title of the text- This may be an introductory paragraph

2. Materials needed for completing the procedure- This may be a list- This may be a paragraph- This step may be left out in some procedures

3. A sequence of steps in logical order- Number of time words (first, second, now, next, then, after this) can be used to show the sequence- Usually the steps begin with a command (Verb 1) such as add, push

or we can say The Basic Structure of Procedure Text are: Goal, Materials, Steps

The Language Feature:- Use of command sentence- Use of time words or number that tell the order for doing the procedures- Use of adverbs to tell how the action should be done- Use of technical terms

I'm going to tell you how to make a balloon powered rockedTo do this you will need a balloon, sticky tape, scissors, string, a plastic drinking strawThe steps are like the following:4.Insert the string carefully through the drinking straw.5.Tie one end of the string to an object (tree, door handle, post, etc).6.Tie the other end of the string to something ten meters away, making sure that the string is tight.7.Cut two pieces of sticky tape.8.Gently blow a little air into the balloon.9.Hold the end of the balloon tightly so the air does not escape.10.Tape the balloon firmly to the straw11.Blow more air into the balloon and again hold the end tightly.12.Quickly release the end of the balloon and watch it travel along the string.
