 Aberdeen  is  hosting  our  third  Literacy  Night  here  at  the  school  on  Wednesday  Feb.  11  from  5:30  to  6:30  for  Kindergarten  and  Pre-­‐school  parents.    Parents  are  introduced  to  strategies  for  working  with  Young  Learners.    Please  join  us.        

PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE We are pleased to announce the award winners from our recent student recognition assembly in today's newsletter. Intermediate students placed on the Honour Roll for Term 1 and Primary students placed on the Effort Roll were given certificates. In addition, students who were exemplary at "Getting Along With Others" over the term were recognized. We will further recognize those who exhibit "Kindness and Compassion" at our February assembly to celebrate Pink Shirt Day. This is the day recognized across Canada to celebrate anti-bullying. We will also have our Jump Rope For Heart Day on Feb. 26. Students will be skipping while trying to fundraise for the Heart and Stroke Fund. Information on the fundraising portion of this will come home to you next week. Another important date on our calendar is our Fun Fair on Friday, February 13. Students will have the opportunity to go down to the gym for all kinds of fun and games during class time. A big thank you to Division One and Mr. Goerke for coordinating this event. Proceeds will go to our grade 7 seven camp. Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, February 9th as this is Family Day across the Province. We hope you all have a well deserved break and a chance to spend time with family.
