BiJOU Robotics Challenge
Principals’ Report BiJOU Robotics Challenge This week the students of the learning community schools have participated in either Lego WeDo 2.0 or EV3 Mindstorm challenges. It never ceases to amaze me how the world of robotics transforms the learning for the students and how patience, perseverance and problem-solving come to the fore! There were some great individual displays of creativity, originality and ingenuity and achievements by all students, big and small! There were some very competitive sumo wrestling and steep climbs to the top of the mountain. Many thanks must go to Miss Vicki Kempton for the passion and drive she puts into the planning, to the BiJOU LC for designing innovative learning events and to the students for the manner in which they participated, well done! Learning how a school ticks This week we welcomed Christyanne Dart and Rory Thornton from Cobram Anglican Grammar for a weeks work experience. They have been assisting in the classrooms, joining in recess and lunchtime activities, helping out with robotics and working through a stocktake of school resources. They will see firsthand how complex a day can be in the life of a school! Week 6 Already!! Our term is really flying and we know how busy the next few weeks will be. It is really important that everyone checks the newsletter for dates and important events.

Finley District Round Robin Last Friday the students from Year 3-6 travelled to Coreen to join their peers from Barooga, Mulwala, Savernake, Lowesdale, Finley, Jerilderie and Tocumwal for a cricket skills session, Frisbee games and a T20 Blast tournament. Very pleasing to hear BPS students received an icy pole from the canteen ladies for the exemplary behaviour on the day. School of Rock Not long to go now! This fabulous musical has opened to rave reviews so I expect the students and staff travelling to Melbourne next Wednesday will not be disappointed. A reminder that students need to be at school no later than 7.15am for a 7.30am sharp departure. Farewell Bec This Friday we will farewell Mrs Rebecca Ware. Bec is taking up employment with Berrigan Shire. Her departure will leave a huge hole in the administrative area as well as the technology department. Berrigan Public School wishes Bec all the best in her new role and thanks her for her contribution to BPS over many years. Swimming for Sport Swimming for Sport notes have gone home with each student. Swimming for sport will start Friday 30th November for three weeks. Please return signed permission notes. Berrigan Memorial Pool The Berrigan Memorial Pool will be opening Friday 30th November 2018. Dorothy Dore & Tanya Saraikin Principals
