What’s going on in school?

The winner of the 2016 Baltic

Elementary Spelling Bee was

5th grader Cheryl Erb. Runner-

up was 4th grader Hannah Stei-

ner. Cheryl will attend the Re-

gional Bee on March 5 at Can-

ton GlenOak High School.

Mr. Mike visited Baltic Elementary last month to present his “Officer Phil” pro-

gram. With the use of magic and his trusty dog “Buddy,” Mr. Mike kept the stu-

dents interested and engaged with his talk about character and safety. Thank you

Sugarcreek Police Department for providing this opportunity to our students!

Baltic Elementary, especially Mrs. Elmore and

the kindergarteners, would like to thank Pro-

Via, Wayne Door and James Meek for their

contributions in putting in new windows in

the kindergarten room!

You have helped make our school even

brighter!

For every item sold by a student in the

Dutch Valley Fundraiser, students got

a ticket to place into the can of a

teacher they wanted to pie. We re-

cently held our Pie In the Face Assem-

bly and several students got to partici-

pate when their name was drawn. A

huge thank you to the teachers and to

John Meek for organizing the event!

The Baltic Elementary Star Students of the Month for January are: (Front L-R) Lainey Schlabach, Ben-son Yoder (second grade); Erin Meek, Kayla Miller, Rafael Silva (first grade); Kayla Miller, Emma Fin-ley, Kendall Yoder (kindergarten). (Back L-R) Zenik Patchan (sixth grade); Isabella Caris, Caleb Stocks-dale (fifth grade); Caden Haynes, Silas Wahl, Grace Yoder (fourth grade); Margaret Wahl, Karson Yackey (third grade). Missing is sixth grader Destiny Pope.

A huge thank you to Baltic custodian Rich-ard Zimmerman and his family for their

donation of new dodgeballs and kickballs for the students to use at

recess. We are very appre-ciative and can’t thank them enough! It is a true

show of our district motto for the year of “Love Your

People!”

We would like to send a huge

Baltic thank you to Berlin

Embroidery for their donation

of hats, scarves and gloves to

help our students stay warm this Winter.

We cannot stress enough how

caring they are and how fortu-

nate we are to have area busi-

nesses who care for our kids!
