PRIMARY ASA ACTIVITIES BLOCK 2 2015/2016
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday 1 Y2 – 3 Choir
Sing your hearts out with Miss Queenie with the newly formed Year 2/3 Choir.
Y3 Compulsory Singing Practice All Y3 are expected to attend the singing practice
ready to perform in assemblies and also as preparation for future choir and music opportunities.
Y3 – 4 Basketball Dribble, Pass and Shoot your way to future success by developing the key skills of basketball at a young age!
Y3 – 6 Arts and Crafts Learn new skills each week in order to make
something new and exciting for friends and family. Origami, Card Making, Painting are just some of the things that will be covered in this creative ASA.
2 Y3 – 4 Healthy Lifestyles Want to know how to lead a healthy lifestyle and look after yourself. Then learn about different methods of exercise, diet and mental challenges to make sure
that your ready for life!
Y4 – 6 Arts and Crafts Learn new skills each week in order to make
something new and exciting for friends and family. Origami, Card Making, Painting are just some of the things that will be covered in this creative ASA.

Y3 – 6 Badminton Learn how to manipulate the shuttlecock to drop, clear and smash! It looks easy… but to play like the
Pro’s is hard!
3 Y3 – 4 Multi Skills Take part in a range of tasks to improve your speed, agility and quickness in order to improve your all
round sporting skills!
Y4 -‐ 6 Beginners Swim Only for beginners and non swimmers. Learn how to swim in small classes and with intensive tuition in
the heated pool!
Y3 – 6 Board Games Learn a new board game each week from Scrabble to Monopoly others on the way. Work with and against
friends to be the best BSG ORIGINAL Gamer!

Y3 – 6 Choir As Gary Barlow once sang…. SING.
A chance to brush up your vocal chords and get prepared for the terms performances with learning
new songs, harmonies and beats!
Y3 – 6 Homework Club Too much work and not enough time to do it. Then get it done in school and with the teachers help!
Then when you get home…. Relax!
5 Y3 – 4 Speed Stacks It looks like cup stacking and it is cup stacking. But the physical benefits of developing coordination and
fine motor skills in a fun, new and competitive environment will improve more than you can
imagine.
Y4 -‐ 6 Cage Football Old school football – small pitches, small goals, small balls! Fast and furious action in the cage which will
improve your close control skills.
Y3 – 6 Climbing Learn how to belay, boulder and harness up. Once
this has been overcome, then learn the art of climbing like a monkey
** Secondary students will be belaying!
Y3 – 6 Master Chef Learn how to make a variety of simple, safe and healthy meals including starters, main meals and
desserts!

Learn what you can do to as well as what the school can do to help reduce, reuse and recycle to save the
world
Y3 – 6 Orchestra For those who can play an instrument and want to perform in the school performances whether is
woodwind, string or percussion we can find a role for you!!

master Chinese Chess Champion…. Of BSG.
Y4 – 6 Cross Stitching Create your own masterpiece on to give to a friend of family member on that special occasion or make it
personal and individual just for you!

Y3 – 6 Production The chance to perform on the BSG stage! Learn the script, rehearse the roles or be part of the back stage
cast performing in this terms performance! 7 Y3 – 6 Chinese Culture
Explore the intricacies of Chinese culture across the weeks, including language, food, games, history and
traditions.
Y4 – 6 Design and Construction Construct a range of different objects from different materials. Lego, Meccano, Playdoh, Wood and even natural materials might be used to see who is the most original budding architect and designer!

stereotypical girls should do… according to the book…The Daring Book for Girls…
Y4 – 6 FOBISIA Girls T Ball Home run! Practice the skills and tactics of T Ball in
preparation to be the best for FOBISIA!
9 Y3 – 6 Little Library A junior book club in which swapping, reading and reviewing books will be encouraged to enhance
English reading skills
Y4 – 6 FOBISIA/NAE Games Girls Athletics

Y4 – 6 Film Making Steven Spielberg had to start somewhere. Your start is at BSG! Learn how to develop, produce and create films to show in Assembly and maybe, in future, in
Hollywood!
Y4 – 6 Photography Learn how to take the best photos using the settings on the cameras and understand what they mean.
Then with the photos manipulate it so your look like a real professional!
10 Y3 – 6 Master Chef Learn how to make a variety of simple, safe and healthy meals including starters, main meals and
desserts!
Y4 – 6 Gymnastics Get ready to learn to roll, dive and vault in Gym Club whilst creating amazing sports acro performances

GOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLL! Develop the skills required in Football in preparation
for FOBISA and NAE Games!
Y4 – 6 Spy Kids Learn the skills of a spy with invisible writing, morse code and other secret skills. Use these skill to crack
codes and save the world

Just keep swimming! Practice in preparation for FOBISIA and NAE Games. Be ready to race with diving, turns and all 4 strokes!
Y4 – 6 Ukelele Club Learn to play simple songs using the Ukelele and
develop your music skills!
12 Y3 – 6 School Gardens Learn your roses from your lilies! Help create the first school garden by digging a flower bed and
planting seeds and flowers to ensure that there is an area of natural beauty in the school grounds.
Y4 – 6 Jewellery Making Learn how to make various items of jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets and ankle charms. Loom bands,
friendship bands and beaded jewellery will be covered with items being made for friends, family
and of course yourself!
Y4 – 6 Puzzle and Logic How many circles can you see? Complete various
puzzles and logic that will test and stretch your mind above that in lesson! For those who like a mental
challenge!
Y5 – 6 Debating A topic each week will be chosen and there will be a 20-‐minute time for research and 20 minute for
debating before a class judgment made. This is great development for researching skills as well as developing spoken English and reasoning too

Be the next Shakespeare by taking the love of English to a new level. An English specialist will show you new texts and language that will further develop the love of learning English through creative writing and
reading. 14 Y4 – 6 Digital Leaders
Love the iPad? Then become a digital leader and take control of the class when the teacher uses a new app
that the class don’t know… and you do… Be a Digital Leader!
Y4 – 6 Pottery A chance to create a masterpiece or just a simple cup to drink from. Learn how to use a basic pottery
wheel as well as the skills behind the art.
Y5 – 6 Science Club Use the Science Labs to do a real practical
experiment. Use bunsen burners, chemicals and beakers with the aim to not blow up the school but to
create the next Nobel Prize Winner
Y5 – 6 First Aid This is not Doctors and Nurses! This is a real
qualification in First Aid and the possibility of saving someone life!
15 Y4 – 6 FOBISIA/NAE Games Boys Swimming**

Y4 – 6 School Council Want to change things around school. Then take part in school council and make a difference by suggesting
ideas and solving problems around school.
Y5 – 6 Table Tennis Ping Pong… Learn how to play with former county player Mr Cunliffe! Learn the rules, the tactics and
most importantly the technique to be successful and a future China Champion!
Y5 – 6 Maths Club Love Maths… Then a Specialist Maths teacher will be leading Maths Club. Extension work, application of Maths to the real world and a chance to be tested
against real life Carol Vordermans!.

Y4 – 6 FOBISIA/NAE Games Girls Football

for FOBISA and NAE Games!
Y4 – 6 Things a Boy Should Do… At least one activity a week focusing on activities that a stereotypical boy should do… according to the book…Dangerous Things A Boy Should Do.
Y5 – 6 Sewing Bee Learn the amazing subject of textiles. Learn how to use each material and manipulate them to create
different items of clothing etc.
Y5 – 6 Young Play Leaders Students will learn the qualities required to be a
leader and use these to create simple and fun games at break and lunchtimes to work with KS1 students. It will develop skills such as empathy and patience as
well as communication skills
17 Y5 – 6 Maths Genius Preparation and taking part in the world reknowned Maths Challenge! Show everyone your Maths skills and how good the school is at Maths internationally.
(Teachers will need to approve your request)
Y6 Boys PRC Sport Volleyball then Basketball
Practice the two sports in order to compete in the exchanges and tournaments at weekends.

Y5 – 6 Younger Enterprise Your fired is a common phrase in The Apprentice! Hopefully that wont happens here! This is a chance for the entrepreneurs to come to the forefront with a broad range of ideas in order to raise money for charity but at the same time shows an air of

Learn to cheer with various skills and stunts taught by Coach Andrea.
