You will be an excellent communicator who gets on well with colleagues, students, parents, technology and change. To deliver our high standard of educational excellence, we are looking for teachers who are experienced, confident, well organised, have a good sense of humour and a willingness to participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom. We are specifically looking for someone who will: Use teaching methods which will engage students through careful planning, effective questioning, good use of resources and a style of delivery that promotes a love of learning Set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a positive approach to behaviour management through well focused teaching and productive relationships in accordance with the behaviour policy of the school Identify clear teaching objectives, content, structures and sequences of lessons appropriate to the educational needs of the pupils in his/her class Set appropriate, realistic yet challenging expectations for pupils’ learning, building on prior attainment/knowledge Know how to prepare and present informative reports to parents in a professional manner in line with the school’s agreed assessment and monitoring procedures Take responsibility for their own professional development and to keep up to date with research and developments in pedagogy as relevant to their own department and mainstream departments Interact on a professional level with colleagues and seek to establish and maintain productive relationships in order to promote mutual understanding of the school curriculum with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning in the school Support an area of curriculum development and contribute to continuous school improvement planning Understand the importance of being a role model for learning within the school and throughout the wider community

Selection Process The closing date for application is 27th November 2015. First stage interviews will be conducted by Skype or telephone and final interviews will take place at the Nord Anglia Education Recruitment Event in central London in the week commencing 18th January 2016 (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person). groups and individuals so that objectives are met, progress and challenge are maintained and the best use is made of teaching time.

• Use teaching methods, which will engage stimulate pupils’ intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, clear presentation and effective use of resources.

• Set high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behaviour management through focused teaching and create positive and productive relationships in accordance with the rules and behaviour policy of the school.

Lesson observations consistently graded as good or outstanding. Pupils are aware of their own abilities and know what is needed to make progress. Pupils are able to take responsibility for their own learning. Behaviour expectations are high and these expectations are met.

Planning Expectations • Identify clear teaching objectives, content, structures and

sequences of lessons appropriate to the educational needs of the pupils.

• Identify students who may require additional support and know where to get help in order to give positive and targeted support.

• Mark and monitor pupils’ class and homework providing constructive oral and written feedback, providing focus for pupils’ progress to ensure they meet individual and Year group targets.

Formative and summative assessment is used to monitor student progress, set targets and plan for future learning. Feedback to pupils, both orally and through marking, encourages pupils to respond to the feedback appropriately.
