Four little animals lived near a forest…There was Dulce the hummingbird, Dafodil the dog, Lilly the frog and Harold the skunk..

One day the four little animals sat down in class and looked at each other from across the room

Dulce looked at Daffodil and thought, “I wonder what it would be like to be a dog?”

Daffodil looked at Dulce and thought, “I wonder what it is like to be a hummingbird?”

Ring…Ring…went the school bell, and they all went home

The next day the four little forest animals sat down in class. They all noticed something different about Duce and Daffodil.

Daffodil and Dulce looked at each other and gasped!

“Ruff” said Dulce, “Why do you have a bird beak?”

“Well,” said Dafodil, “I wanted to be a beautiful bird just like you!”

“Wel,l” said Dulce, “I wanted to be a beautiful puppy, just like you!”

They laughed and realized how silly they were to try to be someone else and that they should see themselves as wonderful as they seemed to everyone else!

So, they took their costumes off and joined class once again.

Later that day Harold looked at Lilli and wondered what it would be like to be a frog. Lilli looked at Harold and wondered what it would be like to be a skunk.

That day at recess, Lilli was found with her teacher’s perfume. She sprayed it behind her and made everything smell stinky wherever she went.

Harold was found in the school pond croaking and jumping like a frog.

When they saw each other Lilli asked Harold what he was doing. Henry said,

“Well, I wanted to be just like you!” “What are you doing?”

Lilli replied with “Well, I wanted to be just like you.”

So that day, the four little forest animals decided that they were all special friends that wanted to be like each other. But they realized that they were even more special just being themselves.
