PRESSED FLOWER ART COMPETITION

Pressed flower Art Society of Pakistan & Nature Club of

Pakistan jointly organized Pressed flower Art contest

under the title “Art is the creation of Nature”.

The purpose of this contest was to provide an

opportunity to youth to work, preserve and present

nature artistically.

Applications were invited from the interested youth of

the educational institutions in the last week of Nov-

2010. More than 200 applications were received. Out of

which 100 were selected for this contest and selected

students were given a task to prepare art pieces from

pressed flowers.

Demonstrations to explain how botanical material may

be preserved and presented on canvas boards were given

to the contestants.

Art teachers of the institutions were also invited and

requested to guide the students to prepare art pieces

from pressed botanical material on a given canvas

board.

Canvas boards of a given size were provided by the club

and art society.

Every student worked hard and prepared their art pieces

which were presented and displayed in the Flower

festival arranged by Nature Club of Pakistan in

Beaconhouse School System-Liberty Campus-Lahore.

Every visitor of this festival saw this art work with

surprise and interest. They admired the efforts, work and

skill of the students.

Every one appreciated the creativity of youth and

expressed that this presentation of work very much

impressed them. They explained that it was very new for

them.

In this competition performance of Students and Art

teachers of Beaconhouse School System-Canal Campus-

Faisalabad remained out standing.

Keeping in view of the appreciation & liking of the

people, both the organizations have decided to conduct

this activity every year.

Moreover, it was also decided to involve the

international organizations to join us to promote this

creative work as a hobby among youth of Pakistan.
