Atlanta, November 1, 2007, Bordering the Atlantic Ocean on the western coast of Africa lies theRepublic of Senegal. With over 350 miles of white-sand beaches, river-laced land of plains, andnational parks with miles of virgin forest, Senegal is historically and culturally rich.

Facilitated by the World Bank through the Project for the Promotion of Private Investments(PPIP), the Senegalese National Agency for the promotion of tourism (ANTP) together with itstourist board in New York City are hosting a special welcome cocktail and workshops in order toinform and train US travel operators and media in promoting Senegal as a tourist destination forAmericans.

“There is something for everyone in Senegal,” Say Mr. Amadou Thiam, Director of the Mission,“We are only eight hours from Atlanta and a mere seven hours from New York City whereflights depart regularly with Delta and South African Airways.” Explains Thiam.

The workshops will be hosted this month in Atlanta on November 27th, and in New York onNovember 29th. You can expect to be mesmerized by the captivating and enchanting sounds ofSenegalese music, see exciting picture displays of the colorful country, its exotic people andfascinating lifestyles. Gorgeous art pieces will be exhibited from regions all over Senegal, alongwith tasting stations where delicious mouth-watering Senegalese cuisine will be served!The workshops will feature detailed information about the country and its attractions. A shortmovie shown and open-end questions will be accepted.
