SENEGAL INVITES YOU FOR AN AFRICAN PARADISE AND ADVENTUROUS GETAWAY; AND A DELEGATION IS COMING RIGHT HERE TO THE US JUST TO TELL YOU WHY Atlanta, November 1, 2007, Bordering the Atlantic Ocean on the western coast of Africa lies the Republic of Senegal. With over 350 miles of white-sand beaches, river-laced land of plains, and national parks with miles of virgin forest, Senegal is historically and culturally rich. Facilitated by the World Bank through the Project for the Promotion of Private Investments (PPIP), the Senegalese National Agency for the promotion of tourism (ANTP) together with its tourist board in New York City are hosting a special welcome cocktail and workshops in order to inform and train US travel operators and media in promoting Senegal as a tourist destination for Americans. “There is something for everyone in Senegal,” Say Mr. Amadou Thiam, Director of the Mission, “We are only eight hours from Atlanta and a mere seven hours from New York City where flights depart regularly with Delta and South African Airways.” Explains Thiam. The workshops will be hosted this month in Atlanta on November 27 th , and in New York on November 29 th . You can expect to be mesmerized by the captivating and enchanting sounds of Senegalese music, see exciting picture displays of the colorful country, its exotic people and fascinating lifestyles. Gorgeous art pieces will be exhibited from regions all over Senegal, along with tasting stations where delicious mouth-watering Senegalese cuisine will be served! The workshops will feature detailed information about the country and its attractions. A short movie shown and open-end questions will be accepted. “You and your whole family could experience a very unique vacation in Senegal, contemporary or traditional, exactly how you want it. You could peruse your days in our modern capital Dakar visiting art galleries, museums and hand-crafted art bazaars, or indulge yourself with the local and international cuisine in quaint French-styled cafes and 5-star restaurants all over the city. Among the delegation arriving from Senegal and hosting the cocktail and workshop will be TheMinister of Tourism of Senegal (NAME?), Head of PPIP Mr. Mabousso Thiam, Head of ANTPMr. Assane Soumare, Ms. Yacine Ndiaye (TITLE), Former Senator (NAME?), Mr. AmadouThiam Director of the Mission and Tourism Specialist, Chief of Mission Mr. Colvin Tooke,Specialist in Integrated Tourism and Coordinator of Workshops, Mrs. Rokhaya Kébé Marketingand Communications Specialist, Mr. Boukounta Kébé, Sociologist, specializing in follow-up andevaluation and several private Travel Operators.
