Norman Yee Declares Victory in Race for District 7 Supervisor

SAN FRANCISCO (November 15, 2012): Today, Norman Yee issued the following

statement after San Francisco Department of Elections Director John Arntz released

the most recent count of qualified votes in race for District 7 Supervisor:

I am pleased that the final vote count has been completed, showing I have come out in

front. I am so delighted that my first choice votes prevailed even with ranked choicefactored in. It has been a very long eight days since Election Night for my family and

my supporters. Through it all, they have stood by me and provided encouragement.

I would like to thank my opponents for creating a dynamic race. I think we can allagree that we care about San Francisco and District 7 and I would be honored to work

with them to address issues like supporting small businesses and keeping jobs in SanFrancisco.

I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working with other Supervisors to makeSan Francisco a safer and better place for families and individuals to live. As I said

during my campaign, I will bring an independent voice, free of special interest groups,

    to represent District 7.

I want to acknowledge Supervisor Elsbernd for his years of service to District 7

residents and to the City as a whole. I also want to thank him for reaching out to me to

assure a smooth transition during the next few months.

I was very impressed with District 7 voters, during my campaign, with their concerns

and engagement. I especially would like to take the opportunity to thank the voters inbelieving in my message and trusting that I will represent them well.
