This is such a good educational opportunity and if you are new to Desk and Derrick, as it is a wonderful way to get to know Desk and Derrick better. We have a total membership of 61 renewals and 9 new members. In our 2014 Strategic Plan, one of our goals is to get 3 new members for each month and so far we have reached that goal for the first three months. Recap JANUARY MEETING

|ADAM HALL | ALLIANT INSURANCE SERVICES, INC|

Adam Hall discussed Alliant and the acquisition of EnRisk. EnRisk is a company that has over 100 years of cumulative oil and gas insurance experience. EnRisk was in a unique market position to understand and interpret a company's individual insurance needs. The Risk Management team of EnRisk could provide a company with the necessary contractual reviews and development of specific contracts to meet the needs of their drilling, merger or acquisition activity. They are considered by many of their clients as their "outsourced risk manager." EnRisk will provide consultative services including a risk review of your company's operations. Alliant Insurance Services is a company with an energy and marine team consisting of professionals who are recognized as technical experts in all areas of the marketplace. Their relational experience along with their technical knowledge allows for critical cost-effective solutions for clients so they achieve optimum results while matching specific program structures to meet their needs. EnRisk was acquired by Alliant and the combination is a dynamic, streamlined powerful market presence with the capability to provide exceptional insurance services to their clients. To properly design a risk management plan for your company, you must first assess your company's risk associated with operations and exposures and impacts of each. A look at company contracts, loss control and safety procedures as well as HR procedures must be reviewed to establish risk assessment. Risk management includes risk transfer and risk efficiencies and preparation for all. One item used to control risk in the field is oilfield contracts. A Master Service Agreement (MSA) is a contract which should be executed by any vendors providing services or equipment or delivery of same to the well site. This agreement is used to establish responsibilities of the parties involved, in addition to avoid costly litigation, etc. Common insurance coverage carried by an energy operator is General Liability (starts $1MM/$2MM), Auto Liability (standard limits $1MM/$2MM), Worker's Compensation (based on payroll, location, job classifications, etc.), Umbrella/Excess Liability ($10MM starting limit), Control of Well (based on AFE, location of well, etc., rule of thumb is 3x-5x AFE), Oilfield Property Coverage (based on valuation of equipment), Director's & Officer's Liability (Public versus Private) and Employer's Practices Liability (Equal Opportunity. Sexual harassment and Discrimination, etc.) Energy Insurance Markets are set up with Domestic Wholesalers (Burke-Daniels, Towerstone, etc.), Domestic Carriers (Chubb, ACE, etc.), London Brokers (NHB, Miller, etc.) and London Syndicates (Watkins, Brit, Amlin, etc.) Today more than ever, the need for insurance and risk management is great. Alliant is your one-stop shop organization who can handle and solve all of your insurance needs!
