(Ohio), Le Radici’ wants to reach the entire Italian-American community and all those who love Italy. e main objective of our association is to organize and promote activities with the purpose of introducing to the Italian community the different facets of the Italian culture. is is why ‘Le Radici’ targets the whole community with no distinction of regional origin or age group. One of our most ambitious projects involves the construction of an Italian cultural center where various cultural and recreational activities would take place. Such a center would include an Italian library, classes for teaching the Italian language, a hall for theatrical shows, a museum, an indoor bocce court, an outdoor soccer field and tennis courts. ‘Le Radici’ è un’organizzazione che si propone alla Comunita’ Italo Americana e di tutti coloro che amano L’Italia. Visit our website: WWW.LERADICI.ORG for further information. 2018 Le Radici 2Oth Anniversary Heritage Tour - Southern Italy Day 1 depart May 15, 2018 from Cleveland or Toronto (TBD) for Rome. Day 2 visit in Rome, arrive at hotel and welcome dinner Day 3 takes us through Italy’s scenic Amalfi Coast and tours to nearby towns of Positano and Sorrento. We will visit the city of Catania on the Island of Sicily and stay at the Hotel Sabbie D’Oro on the beach of Metropolitan city of Messina in the comune of Giardini Naxos. Dinner at the hotel. Day 4 We will also tour the famous site where the Godfather was filmed in the village of Savoca and delight in an eight (8) course meal for lunch then back to the hotel for dinner. Day 5 will include a visit to the city of Noto, Siracusa and wine tasting in Marzameni and dinner at our hotel. Day 6 will be a special day celebrating in Ragusa Ibla at a typical farm house for lunch and then we will assist in the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows in Comiso. Dinner on our own then back to our hotel. Day 7 Depart for the city of Cefalu, Monreale in the province of Palermo with dinner in our hotel in Palermo. Day 8 Morning visit to Santa Rosalia, lunch on our own. A mini concert with Salvo Randazzo and then dinner at a local restaurant in town. Day 9 Depart to visit the city of Erice, lunch on our own, dinner at our hotel. Day 10 Depart from Palermo Airport to Rome to visit the Vatican City, Trevi Fountain and e Colosseum. Back to our hotel for a wonderful farewell dinner. Day 11 Depart from Rome to the USA. “Vieni a raggiungerci nella splendida Italia meridionale!” Come join us in beautiful Southern Italy! As the summer comes to an end, we wish everyone a safe and healthy return to school and best of luck to students on their new journey attending college. You can travel as a single person, as a couple, or even travel with your immediate family. However, when you travel with your Italian club - there is no other word to describe the experience than... magnifico! From July 30th to August 10th a group of Le Radici family and friends from Ohio, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts journeyed together through the beautiful sites of Northern Italy, which was artistically planned out by Le Radici Treasurer, Giovanni Catalano and his personal friend and professional tour guide, Biaggio from Italy (they have been sharing ideas and creating tours together for over 15 years). Luxury deluxe motor bus transportation, trains, boat taxi, gondolas, tour guides, free time, pool time, picture taking, shop time, dine time and wine time was this tours claim to fame. To top things off, we can’t forget the many cappuccino’s, daily prosciutto, salami and cheeses, fine Italian cuisine and musica, and Italy’s best grappa from Bassano del Grappa at Poli distillery - Province of Vicenza. e overwhelming beauty and history of the many regions we visited cannot be captured by words. You must experience for yourself all that is grand and romantic and exquisite as we did from Isola Madre, Vercelli (known to have Italy’s finest rice fields and birth place to Le Radici member MJ Parri), Como and Lugano (Switzerland), Le Cinque Terre, Florence and it’s majestic Gothic style cathedral il Duomo di Firenze and the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge with all the landmark high-end shopping sites, and the Chianti region in Tuscany with their scenic vistas nestled within the mountain valleys. e cities of Mantova, Verona and Treviso all offered a special day or a special place for each of us to call their own. Some regions and villages dating back to 1,000 years rich in history of ornate structures, perfectly constructed to withstand the test of time all built with the finest marbles, granites and famous stones that Italy is known for. Vibrant and weather worn fresco’s painted our pathway’s on the many Renaissance and medieval style churches and buildings we viewed, always breaking way to the most fascinating town squares or “piazza” of each main city. Lunches and dinners served as time for sharing a favorite story, joke telling, abundant “salute’s” and the excitement to hear what was to come for the next day. It is true, we rejuvenated our Italian heritage, strengthened our family and friendship bonds, made new friends, and created memories to last a lifetime. We all agreed how truly blessed we were to have the unique and personal guidance of Biaggio our tour leader, Alfonso our safe and caring driver and Rosaria our tour commander to keep our tour fun filled and full of excitement! In celebration of Le Radici’s 20 year anniversary, Giovanni and his professional tour team are making plans to offer this life time experience to everyone for the May 2018 tour of beautiful destinations in Southern Italy. 2018 Le Radici 2Oth Anniversary
Heritage Tour - Southern ItalyDay 1 depart May 15, 2018 from Cleveland or Toronto (TBD) for Rome. Day 2 visit in Rome, arrive at hotel and welcome dinnerDay 3 takes us through Italy’s scenic Amalfi Coast and tours to nearby towns of Positano and Sorrento.
