A step towards electromobility for everyday use
BO CruiserThe dimensions of a normal car, yet not conceived as a racing car but rather as a realistic everyday alternative.

BOmobil: Project and development objectives
Expansion of competences in the field of electromobility inBochum and in the Rhine-Ruhr region
Use of local automotive engineering competences (NRW-Auto)
Build-up of competences for low-volume commercialproduction at the Opel plant in Bochum
Range and driving performance optimised to fit theapplication
![Page 8: Presentation Prof Ritschel](https://reader034.fdocuments.in/reader034/viewer/2022042714/54c415424a7959c30d8b46e9/html5/thumbnails/8.jpg)
Clearly defined, homogenous market demand (parcel service) of approx. 500,000 units worldwide per year, of which roughly 1/3 every three or four years
Low marketing expenditure, due to low number of large target customers in initial phase
Feasibility analysis in collaboration with Ernst & Young indicated that 46% of companies interviewed expressed an interest in the concept (Volume 2-1000 veh. / customer)
The city logistics market

ruhrmobil-E network
Objectives:The ruhrmobil-E network has set itself the target of transforming Bochum into a model town in terms of electromobility and so contribute to the “Rhine-Ruhr Electromobility Model Region” .
In future, electric vehicles are to be designed, built and driven in Bochum.
Focus areas
Development of electric vehicles and components
Production: electric cars, electric bicycles
Infrastructure: charging stations and networks, car sharing, repair workshops, parts suppliers
