IntroductionToday is truly an exciting time to study operation management. The change brought by new technologies keep operation manager on their toes, and require them to study up – to date on the latest development in operation technology . Advance in computer technologies and software application have had broad- reaching impact across all industries to stay competitive, manufacturer as well as service organization must adopt new technologies. Our company( 7STAR AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY COMPANY LTD.) which fulfill the large companies dreams by implementing a new automation technologies in there manufacturing and production process. The term automation totally return to the integration of a full range of advance information and engineering discoveries into operation process for strategic purpose. Today , automation project are initiated not only for labor cost saving but also for improved quality , faster production and delivery of product and service with increased flexibility to be the best in market.

PROJECT TAKEN BY COMPANY• To implement a advanced Automation technology in a nut and bolt making

plant company [ they had a bulk order of nut and bolt to be produced in there plant and had to complete a order in a given period of time which is not possible in there manual technique of technology going right now in there company ,so to achieve the order the board had decided to switch to a automated technology in there plant like CNC/NC,ROBOTS,AVGIS,CIM,FMS and etc

• So they approached our company to know more details of automated technology and the Manual technology they are using right now ,so they want to know the difference between these technology s.

• So we had a meeting to there board of directors (including technical and management department )there and had to satisfy them on this auto mated technology with the help of work break down structure and critical path with Gantt chart .

• So here we are to satisfy them .

Little bit about our companyBusiness transformation + advanced technology = progressive / profit manufacturing

We a 7 star automation managing company develops technologies and provide service that a leading manufacture around the world used to their competitive advantage, weather running a single machine or entire supply chain, now a days manufactures rely on its automation technology , power control and conversion product and service to manage information flow from plant to plant , plant floor to the front office , even country to country. So it get their product and service to market faster ,reduces cost ,better utilization of power and plant floor assets ,and minimize the risk in their manufacturing environment. So to get all these above factor we implement this automated technology in there factory to get the best .So we always says that there is a better way to put our advanced automation technology software and a machine capable to work for your company to place you in competition with market needs .Here are the machine which our company installs with software in factory operation area .

WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE/CRITICAL PATH WITH GANTT CHART

WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE- A complex project is made manageable by first breaking it down into individual components in a hierarchical structure .Such structure defines tasks that can be completed independently of other tasks .It can be illustrated in a block diagram as shown below ;

CRITICAL PATH AND GANTT CHART-Critical path method is designed to provide intense micro control over the project in phase ,where Gantt chart co-ordinates work center schedules by showing the progress of each job in relation to its scheduled finish dates .

HOW IT WORKSHow it works as we all know that the key benefit of integration in manufacturing system is to consistently deliver the right information to the right component at the right time ,regardless of there physical location .After thinking about this automated technology many question arises ,how it work ,what about the maintenance ,weather productivity will increase or not …so many thing arise in mind, So first of all we clear it how it works .So the question came in mind What is CAD-It’s a COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN AND DRAFTING (CADD) from of automation that helps designer prepare Drawing ,specifications part list and other design related elements by using special graphics, calculations and Intensive computer programs. So software are available for CADD1. For analyzing geometric modeling we use a software like AUTOCAD,PRO-E

AND CATIAV5.2. For doing Engineering analysis we use MISC,NASTRAN AND ANSYS.All the above software are used for design review and evaluation with

automated drafting .So after getting this CADD, next query arise

uhuhu

What is COMPUTER AIDED MANUFACTURING (CAM)?Then its simple CAM include manufacturing process Planning ,process controlling and process monitoring by a computer aided inspection. As we all know that its complicated to handle machine manually because error rate are more and quality cannot be as perfect as needed, and it’s a time taking procedure also, need extra labor on every machine ,as every worker knows his machine and it work, weather its lathe, cutter, threaded, grinding, polishing machine and etc one also. so to get a word complicated eliminated from work area, we use the auto mated technology, so CAM is used to include all the manufacturing process, having a sub process in it can be easily monitored by the programmer sitting in the office or the factory operation area.Hence CAM is used to simplify the machining ,design , planning and controlling process. It simple to understand the procedure of it working , first the data flow in with the help of built-in software and programs .then the information of the product is imported in CAM system by use of CAD software, then CAM calculate the tool path and then cuts the material as the programmer had entered the specification of the product with it details (like height ,width, length .thickness, grooves. Threads ,design, stress and strain factors and etc);all tool path is written in CL data and then the post processor which we install converts those CL data into NC programs for specific machine operation and hence the manufacturing process begins. So as said earlier Automation technologies are not initiated only for labor cost saving ,but also for improved Quality, faster production and delivery of product and service with increase flexibility to cope with market.

IF WORKING ON MANUAL TECHNOLOGY WE CAN’T HAVE A CRITICAL PATH AS IT CAN BE SEEN BELOW

Page 12: presentation on work breakdown structure and critical path

AFTER INSTALLED THE AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY IN FACTORY WE HAVE A CRITICAL PATH AND THAT IS STARTING FROM 1-2-6-7-8-9-10-11-16-17-18=12 WEEKS

Page 13: presentation on work breakdown structure and critical path

No. of period each task take are mentioned below:DETAILS NO. OF PERIOD1.Factory operation to design section 1 weeks2.Design to inter active graphics 1 weeks 3.Inter active design to computer aided design and drafting 2 weeks4. CAM 1 weeks5.Factory automation 2 weeks6.Process &line management control 1 weeks7.Computer aided inspection 1 weeks 8. Quality control inspection 1weeks9.database/central service 1 weeks10.Final delivery of product 1 weekstotal no . Of period for a project (12 weeks)

SCOPE AND BENEFITWHY SHOULD WE HAVE THIS TECHNOLOGY INSTALLED IN FACTORY1-Its Faster, Lower cost change from one part to another which will improve capital utilization.2-lower labor cost.3-Reduced inventory, due to planning and programming precision.4-consistent and better Quality due to the automated control.5-Reduced process planning & production lead time faster response to engineering changes.6-Greater process plan consistency, access to up-to-date information in a central database .7-Improved cost estimating procedures and fewer calculation errors.8-More complete and detailed process plans.9-Delivery of product service with increase flexibility.10-Less amount of time required for implementation of production.11-tools of software as backup for production.12- complete the inter related activities with proper way.13-And the last , improved production scheduling and capacity utilization.
