WHAT IS ORACLE ?The Oracle Database (commonly

referred to as Oracle RDBMS or

simply as Oracle) is an object-relational database managementsystem (ORDBMS) produced andmarketed by Oracle Corporation.



HISTORY OF ORACLE In 1983 , RSI corporation originally founded

in 1979 as software development laboratory

became Oracle corporations to align itself with its flagship product. The product wasoracle version 3 .

In 2003, Oracle corporation released ORACLE

DATABASE 10g. THE ‘g’ stands for ‘GRID’ . In 2005, ORACLE DATABASE 10g release 2

appeared .



WHAT IS ORACLE 10g ? 10g is Oracle’s grid computing product group

including (among other things) a databasemanagement system (dbms) and an applicationserver. Very easy installation . Not very intrusive, much

less memory usedcompared to 11 g .

Very recommended as aMySQL replacement.
